Do not stay at the Luxor!

Immediately upon entry to hotel I was confronted by sales people attempting to sell us show tickets. Then check in took about an hour. Luxor would not give me a room key unless I agreed to additional fees of so called "Resort fee", which I did not want. Hotel floors were dirty. Two of the three pools were closed because of not enough lifeguards, Music played at pool was non-stop "Rap" music with some having profane lyrics. I have stayed at Motel 6's that were nicer than this hotel. The "Comps" were not honored because I would not give them a credit card number ( I usually pay cash for everything). I would never stay at this Hotel or any affiliated hotels. Very negative experience, ruined my vacation. Hotel had very little to offer. Absolutely worst place I have ever stayed!
Beware of poor service, hidden charges and surly staffers

players club rep falsely told us what we could get for our comp points and we could not take advantage of our supposedly great room deal for "free" food/beverage/spa and additional credits because we did not want them to "charge" an additional $100 per day to cover any other charges we might incur, on our debit card. Bad enough that they charged an additional $10.95 resort fee each day to cover the 2 bottles of water and toiletry items we used during our stay. It was meant to cover admission to the Nurture Spa but we did not go to the spa and never had any intention of going to the spa or pool..just the casino and restaurants! Supposed to get $50 free room service and 5 free breakfast buffetts for our comp points but room service wanted cash and free breakfasts were denied because comp points were used on room service. What a farce..you are better off to stay at a nice hotel like Planet Hollywood.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Luxor. For $* night this hotel was more than we expected! We stayed on the 22nd floor near the top of the hotel and the room seemed good size for a king bed (although it would seem small with 2 queens). We had a view of the two towers and the Excalibur, which seemed fairly good considering that you really couldn't see the strip anyways. The bathrooms are amazing! The rooms were clean and REALLY quiet, even late at night. I only remember hearing people outside a few times, and it was still quiet.
The pool was nice, but it does get busy very early. They don't open the 2nd or 3rd pools until later in the day so if you're laying out and get hot you have to walk all the way over to the 1st pool to get in. The sun reflects off of the pyramid and makes it even hotter. However, the pools are kept clean and are well-maintained.
The casino is dark, but features a variety of table games and slots. The minimum bids range anywhere from $5 - $25.
As for food - the buffet called More was alright. You receive 2 complimentary passes when you check in. We did have to wait in line for 15 minutes to get in, and once we were in we noticed that there were a LOT of open tables. We also ate at the restaurant Company and thought it was great!
The one negative that I have about the hotel is that you can only access certain floors from certain elevators. Our room was almost on the opposite side of the pyramid from our elevator. It requires a lot of walking just to get to the elevator.

I didnt like how online travel website and Luxor has commuincated the changes on my checking in. My wife has to wait on this long line and waited for another line. Online travel website supposed to fax the info to Luxor according to our check in time and another person name. Yet online travel website and Luxor didn't communicated to each other or had fax that info on time.
The hotel is full of cigarette smoke, Room was not up dated, ac smells like smoke, the elveator are rattle and shaking when in use.
I will not return to this hotel ever again. I gave this hotel -5

The Luxor Hotel was wonderful, the entire staff was friendly and very helpful. Check in took sometime due to the number of people checking in but the line did move. The room was large and very nice, if I had to do it over again I would not change a thing. This is in my opinon the best place to stay at.
