The rooms are so run down. I was glad I only had one night to spend there. i would have gotten another place before I spent another night there. I am by no means on a 5 star buget nor was I looking for a 5 star place, but 3 stars is WAY too many for this place. Skip it and go somewhere else.
Rating Too High

We spent one night at the Quality Inn Tanglewood, and I was surprised that online travel website gave it a somewhat high rating. The hotel rooms were very plain, and we had to ask to be moved from a non smoking room to another non smoking room due to the strong odor of smoke. The rooms are dated and in much need of updating. The tile around the tub was old and pealing, and the drain didn't work after our shower. Roanoke has better hotels to pick from. We will go back to the Hampton Inn at Hollins the next time.

Stayed at this hotel as a home-base for family outings in Roanoke area and Blue Ridge Parkway. Very close to BRP, area attractions. No pool on site, but fridge and microwave in room handy. Could be a little cleaner, but staff were friendly and the continental breakfast was a nice plus. Good place for the price.

This motel is somewhat rundown. We stayed here because it had a washer/dryer, but it was situated down a dark corridor, and I wouldn't use it after dark, The vending machines were half empty. The breakfast was passable, but barely so. The bathrooms were worn out. Overall, given the price, I wouldn't recommend it.
