Worst hotel in Las Vegas period.

This establishment is the WORST hotel I've ever stayed at. This is a run-down cheap, place which to be avoided at all costs. Can you actually believe that their elevator stank with urine ? The room was damp, in middle of desert no less, ambiance was very dark, overall atmosphere of the place is dirty. This place needs a desperate makeover!!! Their carpeting is holding up by a duct tape! This place, when they rent out their room at low price, seems to give impression that they are giving you absolute good deal. I thought so too as they are in the right middle of Las Vegas Strip. But it is exactly "you get what you pay for" with this trash dump of a place. Our little get-away was actually ruined because of this inexcusable dump and that is totally priceless. Much better to spend $ more and get a quality place.

Not like it used to be...

Where do I begin? I've been going here for years, and showed up this year to find a horror show. The "spa" is now an exercise room. No more steam, or sauna, or showers, or - anything. Burned out light bulbs, a faulty alarm system (causing us to evacuate the building at 2:30am), broken elevator buttons, closed lobby bathrooms, dirty carpets, filthy video poker machines at the bar, WiFi that didn't work, a closed restaurant (I'm not gonna ask why...), and a flood in one of my party's bathrooms, scratch the surface of what you can now expect at this place. When cashing in the balance of my player's points from my gaming card, I had a few dollars left, and asked if I could just get a t-shirt with what was left. I was told that I had "received a t-shirt in August, 2006, and wasn't eligible for another yet"! The casino used to be packed. Half of the tables were closed, and you'd think that they would go out of their way to make the atmosphere a little better to keep the few people in the place happy.

It must be about time for the Tropicana in Las Vegas to be torn down. Great location and I'm sure they are glad they didn't start over in this economy. The plumbing was very bad and the carpet was shabby, but it was clean, quiet and we slept well. Front desk was very helpful - these peole had worked there for many, many years, so they had nice history and knowledge of Las Vegas - gave good directions and extra hints.

I expected better

The hotel was not what we expected never having been to Las Vegas before. IThe hotel is in a great location really convenient to the Las Vegas Strip; however, it was not very clean and overall not great condition. Some of the employees were not very helpful especially the housekeeping staff. Unless you are a big gambling fan, the hotel is not geared towards your needs/wants. There are no coffee pots in the rooms and internet access costs $13 a day.
