First week of June is full of college kids..

...whether that is good or bad is up to you. I was ok with it but it was more crowded and loud than other times I have been to Vegas. Our hallway had some yelling thru the night but I had friends at the Hilton at the same time and they had a very similar experience there and that hotel was much more low-key. Overall, I do not blame the hotel for the abundance of college partiers there at this particular time - it's vegas right after graduation afterall... The MGM is VERY nice, has a great pool and lazy river, good shopping and restaurants and no matter what I highly recommend it... just maybe go in early May or Sept.

Great hotel and stay!

We loved the MGM Grand and felt like it was easy to find our way around. We didn't have any problems and had a great view of the strip. Recommend the Grand Buffet, great food and had never seen such a selection in my life, however, only buffet we tried while in town. Wichcraft and Studio Wok were also very good. We tried the monorail and the Deuce and preferred the Deuce because you are able to see more of the strip. Also, $5 for 24 hours unlimited use on the Deuce (very attractive to average incomes!!) Must see the Fremont Experience, very cool downtown. My favorite thing about the trip was KA, an absoluely phenomenal experience. Would watch again and again. We had great seats and loved the $30 off as MGM guests, wouldn't have gone otherwise and would have missed a fantastic treat. Don't think any seat in the theater would have been bad though. Thanks to MGM Grand for making our experience in Vegas great. My husband had stayed at New New York last year and although he liked it, preferred the MGM. Great trip, can't wait to return!!!!

Awesome Hotel

We went for a relaxing getaway. The staff were awesome. We got in at 1:30 am, the line was a little long, we got checked in and then went down to the casino it was fun. The one issue that we had was the shower and tub did not work...one call to the front desk and we had a new room. I cannot say enough about the pools and lazy river..we are not pool people but it was great to relax around and cool off. One word of caution if you check your bags with the bell desk make sure you check them prior to leaving..we had an item get broken and they would not even discuss it with us because nothing was noted before we left..I can't blame them. My fault for leaving before checking it. We definately would come back and can't wait.

First time at the MGM

We just got back from our trip. We loved the MGM and will definately stay here again. The bed was SO comfortable, the bathroom was large and the room was big and roomy. I do think they should upgrade their TV sets to the HD/flat panel models. The pool area is just as good as the Mandalay Bay, we have checked out most of the hotel pools on the strip and MGM, Mirage and Mandalay Bay are by far the best. We like the selection of restaurants in the hotel. Loved the gorgeous fountain in the elevator area. The drinks are pricey down at the pool, but bring your own booze and make your own. Worked out great.

Hotel was nice but too expensive

  • June 1, 2008

The hotel was nice but the rooms were just like the ones in my home town, There was limited tv channels and room sevice was slow, just for coffe for two was 13.00and thats not counting the tip, no coffee pot in the room the chairs in the room were uncomfortable, The planes were over crowed and the to even watch tv on the plane you had to pay for it, just reg tv and only 24 channels were available. And the resdtraunts that were located in the hotel were not very good and expensive, I don't have a problem paying for a good meal but 37.00 for breaksfast was out ragious, I hate to say it but for six nights and roundtrip tickets for almost 1900.00 they could of at least gave a free contenial breaksfast. If and when i ever go back to Vegas, I think i would rather stay at the Motel 6 it probally was better than the bigger hotels.
