Description: I stayed in MGM grand for 2 nights on a reasonably cheap deal on their website approx $75 a night compared to $200 normal. The room was clean but i didnt feel a quality of luxury within the room. The security was very tight at night time, which is a good thing but can be a hinderance if you cant find your hotel card. The exterior view was amazing from the hotel room and they provided iron board and iron. The room was clean.
MGM is almost at the heart of the action, quite close to Caesars and connected to Excalibur by a walkway. It would be a good deal if you were going to see a concert as they have the famous MGM Garden arena. Tip - if youre interested in concerts make sure you check who is playing as when we went Chicago were playing and i never even heard them be advertised.
I had buffet credit of £25 but in MGM Grand this is nothing as it is a so called luxury hotel. It is one of the biggest hotels in the world. I would not recommend long stays for those on a budget. The staff were helpful but it is very fast paced and it doesnt feel like there is an individually tailored service.
On a positive note the sports book give you free drinks regardless of what you bet. The hotel also has its own monorail stop so make sure you buy a day pass ticket (24 hours) for $9 which gives you many trips to any of the stops. The monorail is a nice experience, not crowded and a nice journey compared to the bus which stops at every stop and takes a long time, in actual fact sometimes its quicker to walk than get the bus.
I would go here for a little bit of luxury but i would ask for a room in the newly reinvated part as my room just felt like "normal" and being at MGM grand i expected a little bit of luxury. Remember to tip the cleaning staff as they will give more freebie shampoos and things and it is common courtesy whilst in vegas anyway.
