The Coolest Hotel Ever

  • August 17, 2009

There's never a lack of things to do in the MGM Grand. There's real lion exhibits, HUGE pools, and a very rare Rainforest Cafe which is the coolest restaurant in the world. They are also famous for the lion habitat in the hotel. Also, it is the coolest looking hotel ever, rivaled only by the luxor and New York, New York. The green stand out like no other on the Las Vegas strip.

when we arrived the whole place smelled terrible. once we got checked in which took about 1 hr. we went up to the room and someone was already booked in there. we get to the next room and had to wait for them to come clean it. the manager was rude and impatient he almost threw the keys at us and walked away while we were still talking, and the next morning i woke up with a bloody diabetic test strip stuck to me, and none of us are diabetic!

Great Stay

My husband and I stayed three nights at the MGM and had a great time. The location is not the best on the strip, but we walked all the way to the Mirage with no problem. We took a cab to the Fashion Show Mall which had every store you could think of! The Grand Buffet was a disappointment as well as the pretenious food at Emeril's restaurant but the 24 hour Studio Cafe was excellent as well as the mini-bar 32 Degrees(we bought souvenior cups that we refilled with frozen drinks such as mojitos throughout our stay!). The room was clean and nice, although we have stayed in more modernized rooms elsewhere( not very spacious and no flat screen TV). The best thing about the room was the bed! We wanted to take it back with us as it was the most comfortable bed we ever slept in! The pool is very nice but gets crowded quick and they ran out of lockers by 11:00 in the morning so we didn't have anywhere to store our things. The staff were very nice and helpful. We would consider staying at the MGM again, but may try another hotel to have a more central location on the strip.

The MGM Grand is now my favorite hotel. It really has lots of luxury. Maybe not the extreme, over-the-top luxury like some other fancy properties---but none of the pretentiousness either. Monorail station makes it easy to get around. Just a great resort. Stay here--you'll be happy!

Right now, very good Value!

Hotel room was clean & quiet. Very comfortable beds, but pillows seemed a bit too hard. Water went down slowly in tub, but that's my only complaint. No big deal there..LOL Friendly staff. Monorail is conveniently located there & access to most hotels down strip. Also,a short walk to NYNY & Excalibur with tram service to Luxor and Mandalay Bay from Excalibur. M & M & Coke stores right outside MGM door. You may also opt for Denny's for breakfast which is also a quick jaunt instead of hotel's Studio Cafe, as more reasonable prices. If you are on the fence, this is an overall good choice and location.
