Nice trip to San Diego!

The hotel was nice overall. I enjoyed staying in the La Jolla section of San Diego. This was my first time out in California. I did not like the bathroom in our room, it was VERY dated with old looking tiles. The carpet looked like it could use a replacement soon as well. The chairs in our room looked very dated, they had a very 70's feel & look to it. I did not even want to sit in them, but had to at times. It seemed the hotel charges extra for: PARKING (Valet $25/daily) (Garage $20)- you can actually park on the street and not pay a dime. We never used their parking, so we saved $160 for our 8 nights! INTERNET: I think they charge $10/daily. GYM: my husband paid about $28 for 3 days- he did say it was one of the best gyms he has been too...but it should have been included with our stay. BREAKFAST: buffet was $19 and it was not that good, I would expect better variety and taste for $19. I got tired of their repetition and went to IHOP one morning (we paid $17 for 2 people). The Oatmeal and Coffee was $11 - another example of their high prices. Their pool was GREAT!! It was my favorite part of the stay, the weather was a bit cool, so we would go in the hot tub instead. Sundays they have a pool party with a live DJ, who played some great music. During the weekends they have the pool staff/waiter service which it great. I do not think that is the same during the week. I do not recall seeing anyone working the pools then.

This hotel is great for business men/women, comfortable rooms, furnished nicely and have a modern touch. All of the hotel staff; front desk to room service to bell boys are all incredibley nice and helpful. Next time I am in the La Jolla/Del Mar area, I'll be staying here again.
not enough bang for the buck.

This hotel has NO complementary coffee or light breakfast fare. I felt the price was over the top for nothing other than a bed and a swimming pool (which was great) to enjoy.

The hotel itself was beautiful and my "deal" online made it very affordable. Hyatt did, however, manage to "sneak in" some additional revenue ... they charge $18 per day for self parked vehicles and $25 per day for valet parking (plus tip, of course). I complained to the manager that $25 was what I paid to rent the car - not to park it. However, minue that one glitch, the hotel was very nice, the people were great, service was "Pure Hyatt". I would go there again, but hopefully without a rental car. The other thing worth mentioning (if you are a fitness advocate) is that they have one of the nicest fitness centers I have ever seen. Totally out of this world.
Okay....but would try another next time.

The hotel employees were awesome. They were overall very hospitable and friendly. The rooms were well kept and nicely decorated. The pool was ok...the water was clean despite not running. However, there was no poolside service. When I tried to call for service, I was asked to call back because the chefs were changing. When I did call back, then I was told I couldn't order from the poolside menu, but had no other menu there, so couldn't order at all. The location is nice. You do need a car to get around since it's not in downtown.
