The hotel employees were awesome. They were overall very hospitable and friendly. The rooms were well kept and nicely decorated. The pool was ok...the water was clean despite not running. However, there was no poolside service. When I tried to call for service, I was asked to call back because the chefs were changing. When I did call back, then I was told I couldn't order from the poolside menu, but had no other menu there, so couldn't order at all. The location is nice. You do need a car to get around since it's not in downtown.

I really enjoyed my recent visit to San Diego. I was very happy I chose to stay at the Hyatt, it was a great location The only issue was the parking. I was very disappointed that the hotel charged $18 a day for parking. We had ended up parking in the street. Other than that the room was great. the bed was so comfortable, I was pleased. The Hotel staff was great, they were very nice and whatever you needed they were there to help you. Overall, I had a great time during my vacation. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was a very nice hotel, with beautiful rooms and grounds. We would stay there again. It's a short drive from the beach & not far from the Gaslamp district.

Very close to UCLA, but does not have a sky bridge to UCLA as I thought. I gathered later that it was Marriott Residence Inn that the sky bridge across La Jolla Village Drive, from driving around. This Hyatt is very grand with valet service in front. The self park is under the building and cost $17 per day. I have noticed that there were many cars parked along side this hotel on La Jolla Village Drive. May be their guests decided to park on the street to avoid the $17 self park charge. Or perhaps because there were many condo-aprtments close by. The rooms were modern, walls were painted light green. Furniture had wood tone. The color scheme was mostly pastel. Bathroom was roomy and nice with bath tiles. Small TV and locked up food iside by side nside wood TV unit. Very comfortable comforter bedding. Very nice air conditioning and view. Hotel check in and check out area was small but adequate. Hotel grounds were very grand and well maintained. Separate parking and hotel elevators. Very courteous front desk staff.

This hotel is in the middle of everything. Granted, it is not beach front but it is not far from one. 6 minutes from a beach. 2 minutes from the aquarium. 15 minutes from the zoo. 15 minutes from Sea World. The room is normal size and is very clean. The bathrooms are unusally large. The staff goes out fo their way to say hello to you. Must do Valet parking because the self is a little inconvenient. They helped out wth verything we wanted to do and gave directions to everything we wanted to see plus a little more. I go to hotels at least once evry two months months and, would say, that this is th best hotel I have been to in years. It looks brand new. We took a look at the wedding fac ilities and would tell anyone to use this hotel. The weddings we saw looked top ofg the line because the way the room is set up. If you want to save a couple of dollars, eat two minutes away because there are a lot of restauarants within the area. There is a lot to do in town but watch because it could get exspensive. I brought my 2 year old daughter and she had a blast. They are very child friendly which we have not seen as of late. 5 stars is not giving this hotel nough stars. Nothing is perfect so, I would like to advise that, self parking should not be an option at this hotel
