We are from Costa Rica, this was our first trip to Las Vegas.
The Monte Carlo is a nice hotel, good service, good food, rooms were clean.
We had a problem with the people next door, but the hotel security stopped them inmediatly.
We will be back to this hotel next time we come to Las Vegas
Mostly good - inspect your room before settling in.

Negatives:
Upon arrival, our room had some trash in it that housekeeping missed. Worst of all, a wet, dirty washcloth was left in the tub. We promptly changed rooms. They supposedly "upgraded" us by putting us in a "high floor" room, but the view wasn't as good of the strip. The view to the mountains was great, so we stayed. The room had a very strong smoke smell when we first walked in. But we dealt with it because we were ready to hit the casino. By the next day it was gone. We later discovered that the walls are PAPER thin and we not only heard the neighbors next to us very clearly, but during the day, since our room overlooked the pool, the pool music was very loud and crystal clear coming into the room. We felt the consierges could have been more knowledgable (eg: WE knew that Wynn golf was now open to the public, and they didn't) as well. The beds were a tad too firm and the bathroom was TINY. Internet isn't free.
Positives:
Excellent location! All of the staff were very nice and did try hard to accomdate our needs and answer our questions. The rates were fantastic compared to other hotels on the strip and it's still a nice enough place where we didn't feel that we were settling (too much). Once we were moved, the room seemed very clean (except the smell, and I think the carpets could use a good shampooing). The breakfast buffet was AWESOME and totally worth the money. We didn't try lunch or dinner. The fast food court came in handy for quick cheap meals on the run. GREAT shower water pressure!!
All in all, we would stay there again and we had a good time.
Monte Carlo is nice and not over the top.

We liked the hotel and casino, it was very nice with out being cheesy or over the top. The overall feeling was not as "fake" as some of the hotels and a little subdued. The casino area was on the quiet side without being hushed. The hotel lacked a lot of the on site shopping that several other hotels offered and the restaurant selection was limited compared to some of the larger properties. The "Pub" offers a great all you can drink bloody mary bar on Sunday for $14 and it was very good. The Cafe' has late night "midnight - 6am" steak&egg specials for $4.99 that were a good value.
My only complaint was that we paid extra for the high floor room and requested a king bed and they put us in a 2 queen room on the 30th floor which is under construction and in a room overlooking the city place construction site and the noise was awful. Construction started before 6am. I complained to the front desk and they moved us to the 12th floor in a king room away from the construction for the remainder of our stay and we could not hear the construction noise. I still had to pay the extra price for the high floor. Also the walls between the rooms are very thin (much more so than average), I have traveled extensively for my job and I am used to the normal hotel noises, but these walls are almost non existent. Every sound can be heard in the next room, so take earplugs and be aware that "anything" you do in your room will be heard by your neighbors ;) .
If your package comes with the food/beverage credits be sure to ask for them at check-in.

The pool and lazy river were excellent, but the wave pool was in the shade the entire day. The cigar shop sold WAY overpirced (5x normal) and extremely DRIED out cigars. Cafe was great. Diablos was pretty cool. Kind of a bland hotel by Vegas standards. Security was great and tried very hard to help us get back an item we left in a taxi. Excellent spot on the strip. Construction was EVERYWHERE on the strip and was not that big of an issue as others talk about. Hotel service was all around fantastic from the maids to the belldesk.

We had a good time, even though construction was noisy at times next door. the hotel rooms were good & the mattress was really comfortable! The best thing about this hotel was the pool! Food was OK not great!! The walking distance to the strip was a bonus!! Will definitely stay again!!
