Our room was located on the third floor with an excellent view of the swimming pool and the river beyond. Our room had a king size bed, a table with two chairs, and an armoire, which served as a dresser, closet and a place for the television.
There was no closet because when the hotel was built, the members' clothes were stored somewhere else and brought to them by their maids and butlers when they were ready to dress. Also the room was not overly large because, as we learned when taking a tour of the hotel, all activities other than sleeping were done in the public rooms. When planning a stay at the Jekyll Island Club call your travel agent to make your reservations. They are able to get much better rates.
