Just returned from 4 nights/5 days here and, wow! Flight arrived early and we had no problem "jumping the gun" to get a room before check-in. The kitchen saved us a small fortune on restaurant breakfasting and the housekeeping was wonderful. Almost across the street from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station was a great location. In walking distance to the theater district and an easy hop on most subways for the rest of Manhattan. The concierge was very helpful in locating great local restaurants for the best pizza, cheesecake, fine dining, etc. and found us great seats for a show without outrageous fees. The doorman was a whiz at getting us the best cab drivers in town. Night security were kind and made us feel safe staying out late. The Aveda bath products were an unexpected bonus. Would stay there again in a heartbeat and will plan on it next trip to NYC.

Great choice for families

The spacious suites at the Affinia Manhattan are great for families. We recently stayed in a one-bedroom suite which had a separate living room (with a pullout sofa bed for our teenage daughter) and two full baths, one in the bedroom and one off the living room. The suites also have great kitchens - stove, fridge, coffeemaker, dishes, etc. This is not a luxury hotel, but everything is clean and nice. It's the space that really sets this hotel apart, in terms of design. We have stayed in luxury hotels in Manhattan that have rooms that are less than half as big but cost more. The location is great, right across from Madison Square Garden. It's a good jumping off point for uptown or downtown. My favorite thing about the Affinia Manhattan is the customer service. Everyone is pleasant and very helpful.

This hotel was OK, close to everything we wanted to visit. Help from room service took long time and the pullout sofa bed was not ready to be used to sleep (no blankets). The concierge desk was not much help answering our questions. The reception desk was very friendly and helpful.

Excellent location across the street from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. Mid-Manhattan so very centrally located. Rooms are suites so nice to have frig and microwave. Bathrooms are a bit small but the room was nice sized. Six different kinds of pillows to choose from. Staff was very helpful. It was our first trip to NYC and the hotel staff helped us with details and suggestions over and over again. Great choice for our family!
