We visited over July 4th. The hotel is older but updated and clean. The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to help us. We loved the "menu" of pillows. We were surprised to have a full kitchen in our room, including a stove. The only thing lacking was coffee maker but we didn't ask for one since Starbucks was right across the street. I would definately stay here again. Very close to the subway and Madison Square Garden and we easily walked to Time Square in about 10 min.

We recently stayed @ Affinia-Manhatten for a quick two day stay in the city, as a graduation gift for our daughter. The gift was actually Broadway tickets to a show of her choice and the information desk staff was invaluable to our stay. From where the nearest grocery store was, to which bus to take to get to the theater, to what tours are better than others, to where to eat breakfast, (they did not say their own restaurant, btw). All staff were helpful, friendly and cheerful. And our breath was taken away when we saw our beautiful studio room. With two comfortable beds, two windows with a view, a fold out couch and kitchenette we were very pleased that this reasonably priced hotel would be home for a couple nights. It would be a great place to stay for a longer time with the full size refrigerator, microwave and stove and oven, plus the maid doing the dishes, it'd save much in food costs. The room slept 6 and if split that many ways, it'd make for a very reasonable stay , even with the $50.00 extra person fee. Three doors down is a wonderful deli/grocery we were able to by many meals at. The central location was great for getting to the activities we wanted to attend. The hotel is old, but well maintained and the parking is expensive @ $45.00 per day, but that was the only negative. We could have gone a few blocks away for parking $10.00 cheaper, but it was worth it to us to have it nearby as we had our daughter's dorm room possessions in it. All was safe and sound upon returning the car to us. This is the best place we've stayed in our 5 trips to NYC.

The Afina is well located, across from Madison Square Garden, a block from Penn Station, a couple of blocks from The Empire State Building, and within easy walking distance to Times Square. Our room was roomy, had a full kitchen, and more than adequate furniture. I thought the lighting was a little dim in the room, though. The concierge was the best and most helpful I have ever encountered.

The Affinia Manhattan is a great place to stay while visiting NYC. Right near Madison Square Garden which was what I wanted when booking my stay. The room was clean, the bed and pillows like a cloud, the kitchenette was handy and my request for more towels was answered promptly. The bathroom was a little on the small side but sparkling clean. I would stay here again on my next outing to NYC. Thank you to the staff who were friendly and helpful.
