Excellent Hotel...

Me and my best friend celebrated my 30th birthday in Vegas, and our stay at Planet Hollywood was awesome...! The Balinese massage at Mandara Spa was one of the best I've had. We got the 'Rambo' Hollywood Hip room, which had a cool view of the south strip. Prive was hype, celebs were there... If you are there to party, take advantage of the VIP passes when booking your trip, we never waited in line at any clubs... The towels were not the best, but the bed was extremely comfortable. Our room was clean, nice bathroom with adequate lighting... There were additional electrical outlets for cell phones... Eating at Planet Dailies at 4am after nights of partying was fun, the food was really good, and the staff was really nice. This hotel obviously caters to the younger, hip crowd, it has a very modern atmosphere. All of the staff were friendly. The absolute best was Miracle Mile mall, which made shopping at many of my favorite stores really convenient since it's only a walk through the casino to get there. Will be back before the end of the year!

Confusing maze in casino/restaurant area - very hard to find and get to restaurants. "Paths" led to deadends and gambling areas rather than to destination restaurants.

Great Buffet

Planet Hollywoods Spice Market Buffet has to be the best on the strip. We got free passes for dinner by sitting through the timeshare presentation for Westgate.... VERY pushy sales people, but we were determined and walked away with dinner for two at this great buffet AND tickets to the V Theater's Ultimate Variety Show at the Miracle Mile Shops at the resort. Also an awesome show! But this is a dark, loud and less glitzy resort/casino, and you've got to fight your way past sidewalk hawkers of "girls brought to your room in 20 minutes!" to gain access to the front door. NOT a great feature for families traveling with younger children.

Best Value on the Strip!!!!!

Free upgrade to Resort Room! A/C was mediocre but other than that, PH is the best value on the strip! The location of PH is right in the middle of the strip so everything is just a Deuce Bus ride away as the Stratosphere, etc. are really to far away to walk to......Earl of Sandwich should be a sin as good as their sandwiches are! Could not see Peepshow due to wife, but did buy timeshare at PHWestgate due to the location vs. Tahiti Village, Grandview @ Vegas, etc. There are more expensive hotels on the strip but PH strikes the right balance between cost & quality. Far surpasses Circus Circus, Stratosphere, etc. & is right up there in quality with MGM Grand, Wynn, Luxor, etc.....had so much to do, I still have vouchers for free buffets @ other hotels. I would choose the five star hotels over PH if money was no object, but it is........PH ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disappointed

Given all the hype and the relative 'newness' of PH, I would say I was disappointed. The room was large enough but, just a bit boring. The view was of the A/C unit over the mall (I had asked about upgrades when we checked in but, was told they were full). The fan did not work in the bathroom nor did the light dimmer. Serious shortage of hangars in the closet and the lighting in the room was poor. Overall the food at PH was all right. We attended a family wedding at the chapel at PH and the chapel and staff were very good. For the right price I would stay here again but, not for their normal asking price. We booked our three-night stay, including airfare, for 600 less in March than what they were asking late last year. Am very glad I did not pay more.
