I loved staying at Planet Hollywood. The casino was lively yet casual and the free upgrade to a resort room was amazing. Large bathroom, comfortable beds, flat screen tv and courtesy bottles of water all made it enjoyable. Good location on the strip and nice pool areas as well. I would definitely stay there again if possible.

very Nice

I just got back from Vegas. I stayed at Planet Hollywood. After reading reviews I almost stayed somewhere else. I did not see one person offering timeshares. Check in took about 5 minutes. We walked right up to the counter with no waiting. We got a free upgrade when we made our reservations. The room was very nice. The lighting was on the low side but I didn't need it, so it was not a bother. It only added to the the atmosphere. We also got a $25 voucher for the buffet and it was good food. The parking was a bit of a walk but not that big a deal. I would definitely stay there again.

not bad but there are much better

Planet hollywood has a nice casino with a great location on the strip. The rooms were renovated since it was the Alladin but it seemed they were done so only superficially. The bath and shower fixtures were old and malfunctioning. It was neat that each room had a specific movie theme, mine was Hoffa. I'm glad I got a room with twin beds however because the first bed I tried to sleep in im pretty sure had bedbugs. Then when I took a bath and drained it when I was finished strange loud gurgling noises came from the bathroom and a very foul smell filled the room. I wasnt sure whether it was from the bath or the toilet but I jumped out quickly. Then when reviewing my bill before checkout I noticed there was an extra $6 charge per night on my room as a resort fee. I was under the impression the room was prepaid in full but the front desk said it is a mandatory fee that covers phone use and newspaper delivery etc. Well I have a cell phone like everyone else and I don't read the paper but I still got squeezed by this forced fee. I think i'll stay elsewhere next time.

Good but not GREAT!

The price was definitely a good deal especially for the centralized location. Room was nice and clean but we did run into ONE problem. As I was unpacking, the cabinet door fell on my foot and when I called the front desk, he offered no resolution other than "Would you like me to call security?" Another room would have been nice! Other than that, the stay was pleasant.

Thoroughly Enjoyed Planet Hollywood

Our reservation included an upgrade to a "Hollywood Hip" room, and at checkin we were able to "tip" our way into a terrific NW facing room that gave us a Panoramic strip view of Bellagio and the fountains, all the way North, and West to the Rio. This was maybe the best strip view we've had in 20'ish stays in Vegas. The room & overall hotel was clean, the bathroom was large, the bed comfortable. They did seem to be reluctant to furnish towels and bath mats, clothing storage was minimal, and we had to call housekeeping for a blowdryer....but those were our only real complaints. The hallways were quiet, the doors didn't make a loud bang when people closed them (which is a real plus with us). The dining choices were more geared toward quicker, less expensive meals, which was OK. PF Changs is always great, the buffet was exceptionally good. The pools were large, lively, and a great place to relax or socialize. The casino had a good assortment of table and machine choices, they do a reasonable job of keeping the smoke cleared from the air. Their mid-strip location is great, and their pricepoint makes it a good financial alternative to places like the Bellagio or Venetian. You can stay here, have the location you want, and won't feel like you compromised too much. Overall a great experience.
