Couldn't Ask for Anything Better

Planet Hollywood was great! The customer service was awesome and very personal. Every employee that passed greated us with eye contact and a brief "hello" or "is there anything I can help you with". Checking in was very smooth, efficient and comp coupons for various services such as food, in house spa, and credits to use in the casino were also given at check in. Housekeeping has every reason to be commended! Our room was cleaned promptly every day before 11 am and we were on the 22nd floor. Although it was only my husband and I, we always had plenty of towels and toiletries and never had to ask for extras. The only thing our room was missing was a coffee maker and it was a bit inconvenient to go downstairs thru the casino to Starbucks. However, the bedding was comfortable and the city view was breath-taking. The resort is centrally located on the strip and the Deuce stops directly in front of PH. There are a variety of restaurants in the resort as well as in the Miracle Mile Mall and coupons can be used at most of them. There are always people handing out coupons and vouchers!!! The only complaint that I have is that shuttles such as Gray Line have to drop off and pick up guests away from the hotel entrance. This is very inconsiderate and inconvenient especially when you have to carry a lot of luggage from the drop off and pick up location to the front entrance. I think they should be allowed to drop off in front of the hotel just as the taxis, and valet patrons are allowed too. I'm sure those guest didn't pay anymore to do so! PH has so much to offer you don't have to leave!!!

Would Not Stay There Again

Just returned from a week's stay in Vegas at the Planet Hollywood. My advice, if you are over 30, DO NOT STAY HERE. My husband and I are in our 40's and really felt out of place. PH attracts a very, very young crowd. The rooms are nothing great. We had a pool view room which was very noisy. The room had poor lighting and it was very dark, even with all the lamps turned on. I was told that all the rooms has been redone, but I couldn't tell. The drawers in our room were broken and the bathroom shower dripped all the time and had very poor water pressure. I received a letter from a business associate during my stay and had to pay a $6.00 "handling fee" before they would give me the letter - what a rip off. While the location is great, it's not worth it.

Recently stayed at PH, for the price it was not worth it! The rooms were dirty, trying to get the cleaning services to clean the hairs on the floor in the restroom was an act of congress, and the window pains had dead flies on it and remained there for three days. We (myself & wife) cleaned the mirror and counter in the restroom to make it livable, the carpet was never vacuumed during our stay. Over all the hotel was expensive $10 for a call drink, $8 for a tap beer, and the bartender in the main bar was rude! Bartenders would shy away from patriots playing the slot machines on the bar so that they would not ask for their free drinks; on the floor it took an average of 20 to 30 minutes for a waitress to offer you a free drink while playing the slots! So I say that the old Vegas is gone no more free bees while playing the slots and defiantly no more great service!

Wouldn't stay again

This hotel would be great for college students or people that don't care much about the room. The room we stayed in was not very clean, the bathroom had makeup on the bathroom door, and the doors needed a good wipe down. The grout in the shower was black from mold. The bathrooms were done very cheaply with ceramic tile. This lists as a 4 star hotel, and no way is this a 4 star hotel in any sense. It is maybe a 3, but on the lower end 3. The location is great, but we have stayed in nicer hotels for the same price. We were woken up at 1am by an unknown loud noise, like a jackhammer in the hallway type noise. We got up to figure it out and it was something in the plumbing for the toilet. We called the front desk and they sent somebody up an hour later and the noise had stopped. So we didn't get a great night sleep. The beds were horrible, you could feel the springs in the mattress. The pool was ok and the pool bathrooms were like going into a rest stop or park bathroom. Nothing nice about them.

Great value/nice place

1st priority: GET THE COMPLIMENTARY COUPON BOOKS! One when you check in for use at the Miracle Mile shops and one when you join the slot club. Food: lots of restaurants to choose from on the Miracle Mile. Buffet is to die for and deserves the "best buffet" designation by LV Review-Journal. Use the coupons and eat for less. Gaming: If you want $5 minimums, forget it. If you're lazy like me and don't want to trek all over looking for low minimums, there are low minimum machines in the casino - won * at video roulette that had minimums starting at 25 cents. There's also low minimum video black jack. Rooms: PH has props displayed from old movies and now-defunct TV shows. Ours was 'Space: Above and Beyond' (remember that show?) - kind of interesting, but also a little hokey. No refridge or mini-bar even when we asked. Missing cabinet doors/some lights not working, but bathroom was nicely appointed and room was quiet/clean. Location: great location on strip. If you're cheap like us (not willing to pay valet tips), be prepared for a nice hike to the parking structure - you need to go through the casino, then through half the Miracle Mile in order to get to the parking garage. Be prepared for a long wait at the traffic light to get onto LV blvd due to construction across the street at the new City Center. Staff: generally friendly except at the slot club counter. Decor: be prepared for lots of rock music and contemporary decor - mellower stuff in the AM (Crosby Stills and Nash, Beatles, etc), harder stuff as the day wears on (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, etc.). Miss the old Desert Passage, but parts still remain if you look hard enough.
