Watch out for the Hidden Parking Fees

  • April 23, 2008

Room was extremely small, when booked through the travel website rooms looked much bigger and luxurious. Besides the hidden daily parking fees which were not inclusive in the hotel rental all else was okay. Beautiful grounds and keep well.

Hotel stay

It didnt start very well when we got to the front desk sence they did not recive our reservation from the travel website and it took us a while to get checked in. They were very nice and upgraded our room, even though they still didnt get the proplem solved. Make sure you take a copy always of your resevation with the travel website, that really helped. We had a great room and everything thing was very clean and comfertable. We went down to the pool and the jaccuzi and that was really great after a day of skiing in the local mountains. We then ordered dinner in our roon due to one of our sons feel asleep and they did forget a few things and the food was a little cold. They were very busy due to the holidays. Overall the stay was great and it was very kid frendly and I would recommend this to anyone. The hotel has so much charm. It is a great place to stay if you are going skiing up to Mountain High which is only about 1 hour away.

If train whistles during the night bother you, take ear plugs. (There are many trains and many whistles.) It is part of the ambiance otherwise, along with the church bells. This is a very interesting hotel, full of history and ambiance. It is very clean and well maintained! Take the tour also.

Historic Mission Inn

Fanstastic! Beautiful Spanish Architecture and Charm. Looks like a castle. Wonderful service without the "attitude" in most upscale hotels. It has been visited by many "Hollywood" stars and Presidents. The furniture and decor of the hotel is truly historic. Once you get there, you will not want to leave the hotel. This is a great weekend getaway for those who desire luxury, affordibility, and relaxation. Unfortunately, there is not much to do outside the hotel (in my opinion). As a city girl, Riverside is not my idea of an interesting city, but the hotel is in a class of its own.
