Nice new hotel for Bakersfield

I stayed at the Garden Inn on business and found the location to be very convenient. The building and grounds look nice. The lobby and interior of the hotel were equally as nice. The rooms were above par for the area and a welcome relief. My room had an 'energy saving a/c sensor' which meant if you did not move about the room the a/c would shut off. I am sure this is great during the day when there is no one in the room but it is not good when you are sleeping and not tossing or turning. My first night the room got very warm but I did not understand why. The next day my room was 85 degrees when I returned so I called the desk and they told me about the sensor which worked great until began working on the computer not dancing about the room. The maintenance tech took care of it and left the system on for the balance of my stay. The workout facility appears to have been an afterthought. The space is tight, cramped, and included a pathway to the pool. Overall a very nice hotel, fix the energy saving a/c issue and cramped gym to make it perfect.

Best Stay I have ever had in Bakersfield

For business meetings and dances I travel to Bakersfield at least twice a year. I have been doing this for about 10 years. This was the best experience with a hotel that I have had in that 10 years. The hotel was lovely, conveniently located near the freeway. There are restaurants and stores nearby. The breakfast at the hotel (not free) was excellent. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Although the price was a bit more than some of the other hotels I have stayed in in bakersfield, it was a bargain for the experience. I plan to stay here every time I come from now on.

Very Comfortable Stay

Hotel was a real bargain. Large room, comfortable bed, convenient location (although the view was very industrial). We didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu looked great.

This was our second stay here. Once again nice. Big rooms and comfy beds. The desk staff warned us of kids event staying in hotel and placed us on a floor with the least amount. We are low maintenance with our stays, so could not tell you about services. Restaurant seemed a little high priced, so we ate close to hotel. Still a nice and quiet place to stay.
