Great Room for the Price..

We got the hotel in order to arrive at an early medical appointment at the University of Michigan Medical Center the next morning, and were overall very pleased. We opted to get the King/suite which had a king bed, desk area, TV with Keyboard and good satellite stations, mini microwave and refridgerator, which could be handy as the hotel is directly connected to a Big Boy restaurant. All rooms are outside entry which made it a bit cold and windy when we were there in the middle of winter, but the room was comfortable, roomy enough for 2 with a well-lit vanity outside the bath and a strong shower flow (gotta have a good shower). If going to the UofM for tests it is a straight shot turning right out of the hotel, down to Maiden Lane, which brings you directly to hospital buildings. Do allow yourself 15-20 minutes to get to any parking as there are a few miles to travel and a lot of stoplights and traffic around the university. It was easy to book....first looked on-line then spoke with someone to finalize on the 1-800 number. The only downside is when we checked in we found out that we could have gotten to room cheaper by booking directly with the hotel AND it would have included a free breakfast which we didn't get at all. Good hotel for our purposes (living 200+ miles away) with friendly staff at the desk both morning and evenings. Easy to reserve our room but won't pay the extra $ if we don't have to.

The Red roof Inn is clean, comfortable and a great value, especially for the Ann Arbor area. Our king bed room had a computer work area. The Inn provides a complimentary voucher for a hot breakfast at the Big Boy restaurant linked via a hallway from the motel. The Inn is about a 10 minute drive from the UM Medical Center. This Red roof Inn has recently been renovated so furnishings are new. We paid $** (inc. taxes) a great bargain for a very satisfactory room.

My sister and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn for 5 days in mid December, 2008. The rooms were nice and very clean. There was a microwave and refrigerator with a separate freezer. We didn't use them because we ate at the Big Boy which is almost a part of the Inn. Great soup and salad bar there and nice breakfast. The Inn staff were very friendly and accommodating. Great coffee machine in the lobby. We will stay there again in January, 2009.

Hotel was clean, no frills. If you book, make sure you ask for a hair dryer at front desk as they do not keep one in the room. Not too happy about booking through Travelocity--said that they could not upgrade me because of this (I hadn't asked, but there you are). That being said, good price, nice staff, great that restaurant is attached. Pretty garden.
