Comfortable and inexpensive. More than I expected for the price.

Seeking a cheap hotel for Valentine's, I chose Microtel. I had high hopes. And I was NOT let down. The overall feel in the hotel is nice. We received prompt check-in, actually two hours earlier than scheduled. It pays to call.
The beds were very comfortable, and the pillows were even better. We stayed in the regular rooms, which could easily sleep five. Large television. Very nice pool, although it was too cold to swim.
The breakfast bar was simple, but sufficient. Cereal, milk, honey buns, pecan swirls, juices, toast, bagels, and coffee. Everything was fresh.
My only complaint is that the walls are paper thin, and we could hear whatever neighbors nearby... clearly. Also, the showers were just beyond lukewarm. Just enough to make you longing for a bit more heat. At least they weren't cold, though. I've been there and done that before.
Overall, the stay was much more pleasing than I'd expected. We enjoyed our mini-vacation for Valentine's, and still had extra money to spare. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked this then found a cheeper rate in a travel magazine upon arrival I asked them about this they were more than happy to use this discount now I know why. There are 2 sections to the hotel a new section and an old. I was told the new section did not have micro/ref (the web site said all rooms had them). The old section had them but no elevator to 2nd floor. So she found ua a room first floor old section. Walked in and room was REALLY REALLY small. So small the crib had to go in the bathroom or blocking the door. the floor was so dirty with in 5 minuets of taking off shoes our feet were BLACK! The ice machine didn't work on fist floor so had to hike up stairs just for ice, their breakfast was in the other building and was VERY lacking all there was to choose from was old muffins, oat meal or stale bagles. Pool was very small (would only hold 10 people). The walls are paper thin hear all guests and all of thier....Lastly we were talking to another guest the last night of our stay who was staing in the new section and guess what all room do have the micro/frig. I'm thinking the front desk didn;t want to give us the nicer newer rooms for the coupon rate.
