Very Unhappy

This was my first trip anywhere outside the U.S. -- I'm going back to London soon, but I would never stay here again. The hotel was not as near the tube stop as they'd lead you to believe, and on check out, we were charged nearly $300 for using the phone in our room, even after we made sure we weren't being charged. Obviously we were, and after arguing with the manager that his staff misinformed us, he threatened to call the police if we didn't pay. I would never stay there again, and I'd advise everyone else against it too.

No internet, though "modem/data port" is listed under amenities - I would have stayed elsewhere had I known that. The lift was broken all 4 days. World-class shower, which is saying something in London. Small but clean room; adequate breakfast (w/Kraft cheese slices!)

Loved it

This was my first trip outside the U.S. , I thought London was wonderful. The Byron was great too! The breakfast was wonderful and there was plenty of it. The room was a little cramped but you won't get any nicer so it really was fine. I would definetely go back.

We really enjoyed the location of this hotel. They were in the midst of some renovations, and only three times in 9 days when we returned to our room did we have electricity. We had to CONSTANTLY go to the desk to get someone to fix our lights. The breakfast staff never smiled, or even spoke to you. To be honest, we were a bit disappointed, especially about the overall management' s lack of concern about taking care of the electrical inconvenience..As guests we really expected electricity 24/7. We did enjoy opening our window, and using the ledge as a fridge, and the HOT,HOT water.

Budget Minded

"The room was small but clean but out of the 4 evenings spent there, the elevator was inoperative for 2 of those days - This is a problem when you have walked all day and find yourself having to walk up 3 flights of winding stairs. Compensation for that? Nothing, I asked! On a package deal, it was reasonably priced, if your going to have breakfast? Get it early b/c the yogurt stays out in room air without ice to keep it cool.
