Byron Hotel

We had a good experience at the Byron. We had read a number of reviews ahead of time that led us to believe that all London hotel rooms were tiny. Our room, while compact, was certainly roomy enough for 2 good-sized adults, and we even had a double bed (apparently not all that common in British hotel rooms). The staff were friendly and helpful, and we liked the neighborhood - definitely a part of London but in a more residential section of the city. The breakfast buffet (included in our package) was plentiful and tasty, too. I would stay at the Byron again, and would recommend it to friends.

Only a Place to Sleep

There is nothing "wrong" with this hotel. If you plan to use it only as a place to sleep and store your belongings while you hop around town, then it's perfect. Room is very small. Bed is smaller than a twin, AC doesn't work very well.. and here's the kicker- you have to put a key in a switch by the door to run the elctricity. Every time you leave the hotel, you drop off your key at the front desk.. you also must schedule your breakfast time in advance. Of the 7 days I was there, the only 2 times ever avalable were: 7.30 AM and 10:45 am. Staff is small but friendly, room and grounds are clean. Very near the Queensway tube stop and many affordable restaurants and shops. I won't stay there again, but maybe it will suit you better.

I enjoyed this hotel immensely. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and cozy, and location in the Bayswater area was excellent.

I spent 3 days in London and the Byron was a great base to travel from-close to lots of sites and the tube-I was traveling alone and I felt safe in the neighborhood-there is a local pub down the street and plenty of shopping nearby-the only problem was with the toilet needing to be flushed several times each use but then several people told me the water pressure in general is weak-even with this, I would stay there again
