Hotel is centrally located just 1/2 block off Union Square. Being an older San Francisco property our room was fairly small but well equipped with coffe, fridge & a safe. The pool area was lovely and was overlooked by larger rooms with balconies. The hotel staff were helpful and professional. A great place to stay, the location couldn't be better, plenty of places to eat within steps of the hotel and many stores art galleries to check out. An added bonus was that the computer was free for airline check-in and to print boarding passes.
Wonderful hotel--much better than a chain.

Excellent location, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Attractive, clean and spacious. Close to shopping, transportation, dining, etc. We stayed 4 nights. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Wonderful.. . .

Hotel Handlery is located with in walking distance of Union square, you can go shopping, fine dinning, and if you are up for it even walk to the pier. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, room was spacious and very clean. I didnt realize the hotel was right across the street from Hotel Nikko which by the way goes by $ a night. Hotel Handlery was a deal!!
not worth the money

Location is excelletn-everything else was just semi acceptable. There is no fitness room even though the website lists one. The king size bed is not king-but double. Not enough bang for the buck.
Great time

I have always wanted to visit San Francisco, and I finally got an opportunity in Feb 08 for my anniversary. The hotel was just perfect for my husband and I. The staff was unbeliveable, helpful and courteous. The room was kind of small but very clean, which we didn't stay in it long cause we were out touring the city. The hotel, I think is in the perfect spot, close to resturants, shopping and much more. I really appreciate the people that wrote reviews regarding this hotel because it was very helpful info. Especially regarding daily parking fees that you have to pay, which I think is ridiculous, but I guess there is a reason for it go figure. Oh by the way, the walk from the parking area to the actual hotel is far. They really need to come up with another solution.
