Good value for the price, we will stay there again

We had a 1 BR suite on the 2nd floor. It had obviously been "refurnished" recently, as evidenced by the brown touch-up paint on the cabinets and woodwork. Some details, like the plumbing fixtures and sink countertop, were obviously not replaced, and showed years of wear. But the carpet was new and the walls were recently painted, so overall I'll give them a 7 out of 10 for the refurbishing job. But they get a 9 out of 10 for value for the price. I travel to Tulsa fairly frequently and I'll definitely stay there again next time. Pros: Fairly large rooms, good sized kitchen w/full refrig/freezer. Handy bar sink. Price is reasonable (and far better than most competitor's suites of comparable size). Good fast elevators. Cons: No ice machines handy (you can get a flimsy little bag of ice from the reception desk, and maybe it won't bust open & spill before you get it back to your room if you're careful). Small BR/bathroom doorway prevented our wheelchair-using friend from accessing bathroom (to be fair, her chair is wider than standard).

They did allow early checkin which was good, but did not inform us that there is no maid service-so came back after busy day to unmade beds, wet towels in bathroom. I have never experienced that before. One man brought in a large wolf spider from his room morning of checkout. Staff was helpfull but should have mentioned some of the non-percs. Rate was $$/night which is no give-away, but tolerable. surely could have made beds and brought linens-they did give them out at office, but only 2 people there and sometimes only one for this rather large hotel. Sort of dangerous in case of a tornado or fire, etc I think- Did have coffee in office, but room coffee maker had small coffee in filters but large pots-no directions on how much water to use so was poor coffee. Sheets did not fit the beds and so most of covers on floor next AM

Worst Place We Have Ever Stayed!

This was the nastiest place we have ever had the misfortune to stay. We had to put the kitchen trash can over the tack strip between the kitchen & living area or trip on it! The ledge around the livingroom ceiling had approximately 20 beer cans as "decoration" - obviously the housekeeping staff didn't see or couldn't get to. The floor throughout the apartment dipped to the point of our tripping. It was all-around in sad shape. Please don't waste your $$ by staying in this awful place! The only "happy" spot was the reservation staff. They were exceptionally friendly.

Avoid at all costs

This was proabably a nice hotel at one time, but it has deteriorated so badly that it is uninhabitable. They are currently in the process of refurbishing the hotel, but until the renovating is completed I would avoid this motel at all costs. I actually refused the first room because it was so dirty and the furniture in such poor condition. The rug is worn with multiple stains in it. The furniture in the room does not match and has large holes in the upholstery. The windows are dirty and there was mold in the bathroom. There was a hole in the bathroom door. There was a sticky stain on the table in the living room where someone left a soda can and didn't clean up the spill. There was visible debris on the carpet and it didn't look like it had been vacuumed in a month. The wallpaper was peeling off of the walls and the cottage cheese ceiling had large holes in it. Nothing like the pictures on the web site. Avoid at all costs.

Good value, staff, central location

The new owners of this establishment have changed the name from "Hawthorn" to "Crestwood Suites." The new management is doing a great job. Extensive renovations are underway from top to bottom and inside to outside at cost of several million dollars. Yet, with all of the activity, the accommodations are still exceptional, the staff is very helpful, gracious, attentive and friendly. As hotel owners ourselves for 21 years, my wife and I have stayed here often since it first opened, over 20 years ago (3 owners) and it's quality has wavered from time to time - NOT SO WITH THE CURRENT OWNERSHIP/MANAGEMENT. We offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to xyz, the manager and his entire staff for consistently making our business and personal trips to Tulsa more enjoyable and less stressful. We salute you all and we'll be seeing you again very soon. Steve
