We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western La Copa very much! The staff was very friendly and helpful, they met all of our needs quickly and answered al of our questions. We loved walkway access to the beach, it was great! The pool was nice, but we did notice that the majority of people at the pool were not guests of the hotel, which we didn't like simply because there were som many of them in the pool. We would stay at the hotel again and plan to later this summer!
Would Not Stay There Again

We were overall disappointed with this hotel and would not stay there again.
Negatives: The hotel smelled but especially our room, the air conditioner was very loud and kept us awake, was run down and needed some work, many things were broken for example our tv remote was held together with tape and this was just the beginning. The beds were also very hard and uncomfortable, with only a very thin blanket. It's a cheap hotel, we paid less than $1*** so I guess you get what you pay for.
Positives: Beach Access
Don't expect an amazing experience if you stay here, it's just a cheap hotel. We actually left after 1 night even though we had booked for the weekend and we would never go back.

Management was awful, treated us like spring breakers. First 2 rooms reaked of cat piss or spray x 20 2nd set of rooms roaches on the bed.. on the floor..on the walls...on the doors. Kids wouldn't even stay in the rooms. Checked in at 10pm left at 12:30 am to go to another hotel. Wouldn't refund money. Come to find out that they were the only hotel that didn't close during Hurricane Dolly in August 2008 which hit there. Plus, never shut down for rennovation. I reckoned they thought slabbing on some new paint we take care of the roaches, odors and germs...Looked good to the naked eye, wouldn't stay there if paid to. Beautiful hotel right next door use to be the Radisson but changing to Grand Isle I think, did the renovations and is actually on the beach! Great customer service, actual beach view not hang your body over the balcony which are mostly on the side of the building for a glimpse of the beach. Only cost us a few more $ to stay there and gave us late check out due to the nitemare at the La Copa

The internet makes it look better than it really is.

This hotel did not meet my expectations. The pool area is very small. Happy hour was terrible, flat beer, cheap wine, and cold nachos. Elevators would work one day and then not the next which made it difficult if you were taking a cooler down to the beach or luggage in/out. Overall I think the hotel is too small to accommodate the amount of people they book which reflects then on the service .
