online travel website rebooked the room to Hampton Inn and Suites since the Country Plaza Inn was closed for remodeling. On check out, the hotel would not give frequent traveler points noting that the reservation was not made through their reservations system.

For a 2 star hotel, it was not too bad. We enjoyed the continental breakfast, the free Internet access, outdoor pool and private balcony. The staff was mostly friendly. We did not like that we couldn't get a king room as we had booked. We saw 2 cockroaches in the hotel, the carpet in our room turned our feet black, the non-smoking room we had smelled like smoke, the entire 1st floor smelled like mildew, we were right next to the freeway so kinda noisy. The mattress was very hard. If you don't mind all these things, you'll like your stay. We got what we paid for.
Would stay again

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We wanted to stay an extra night but wanted to book on Travelocity, however they didn't have the same room, but the front desk fixed it for us so we didn't have to move. And with a smile, no less! Very clean and little things done right. Not a 5 star hotel, but well worth the price. The beach is a straight shot down the road about 1 mile. Very nice choices of resteraunts near-by from cheap on up. Right next to the freeway for easy access, but not very noisy. I highly recommend this hotel if you want a nice hotel at a reasonable price.

The hotel was right off the 5 so it was a nice location. The lobby was charming and I liked the Spanish Mission style. The rooms were small but the staff helped us with all of our needs very quickly.

The rooms are very clean and the hotel complimentary breakfasts are excellent and continously replenished. The ammenities in the rooms are great. As a guest you have wireless capability in the rooms but also lobby computer & printing needs are a complimentary service. We were visiting my Marine son who was to be deployed that weekend. The hotel and overall accomadations were great. The housekeeping staff was excellent. The Front Desk daytime staff provided you with the information required. During our stay, the evening and night Front Desk staff were very receptive and went out of their way to seek answers to questions asked. Security is important to me and the facility appeared to provide the required need. The location met our needs for proximaty to Camp Pendelton. It is also close to food establishments, malls and basic needs. We will definitely visit again.
