not exactly what promised

This hotel is in an ideal location for visiting the Kennedy Space Center but... 1. At first appearance the rooms appeared clean, but then bugs were found in the room and the children woke up in the morning with unexplained bug bites they didn't have when they went to bed. 2. The office initially had no record of our having paid in full before arrival and had to hunt around the office to find it. 3. Prior to arriving they would not confirm a non-smoking room and I had to call online to get them to honor my request. We did get non-smoking rooms. 4. The "expanded" breakfast was not. The "eggs" did not appear to be real eggs. We did not eat there. 5. Their posted non-Shuttle launch price of up to $75 may be appropriate but we were there for the Shuttle launch and the price of $ for two rooms (total-taxes & fees included) was way too high for what we received.

They are overhauling this property. First of all there were little small red ants in bathroom...killed most of them other than that the room was OK. Beds had to be some of the hardest next to the ground that I have ever slept on. The lady taking care of the breakfast area was top notch. It was what it was.

Very old hotel, though front desk staff very friendly

We requested a queen on the ground floor. We were given a handicapped accessible room which would have been nice, except the bed was actually a MURPHY bed and it felt like sleeping on someone's pull out sofa. There were red stains on the carpet that looked like paint or even blood. The a/c made a very loud noise every time it came on. The room itself was very large though, with a microwave and fridge, and the TV reception was excellent. It was a very close hotel if you're going to the Kennedy Space Center. There is also a great Cracker Barrel about a mile away. The front desk staff were very nice and allowed us to cancel our booked second night.

Not a Place I Would Recommend

The only reason I give this hotel anything above one star is because of it's proximity to Kennedy Space Center and restaraunts, and the fact that I only paid $. The hotel at first glance seemed OK, until we got into our room. The room smelled pretty much like old wet shoes worn by an old wet cigarette smoking dog. We were placed in a ground floor unit in what had to be the handicapped section based on the fact that all the parking spots in front of it were handicapped and there was no curbing. Why we were placed there, I have no idea but we loved lugging our luggage across the lot. Our view was just lovely and filled with nature. We could stand at our window for hours and watch a flock of giant vulture-like birds pick over an overflowing dumpster located about 20ft from our door (yes, sad but true). After all this, we decided against even trying the pool which was hidden behind a tall wooden fence. The free breakfast consisted of toast, english muffins, and watered down coffee. That's it. We ended up at a Denny's across the street. Luckily, we only had to stay there one night. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars to stay in a different place.

Didn't Even Stay the Night

This is an older hotel with the room entrances opening directly to the outside. We were scheduled to stay one evening and didn't even stay the night. The carpet in our room was disgusting; we put towels down to cover the worst areas and wouldn't even walk barefoot. The pool was dirty and we didn't stay in it long. There wasn't much in the vicinity to do in the evening, although it was close to Kennedy Space Center. We drove around a bit and felt very unsure about staying here. We ended up packing up and finding a nicer hotel just on the other side of I95. Would definitely NOT recommend this hotel.
