We stayed for 10 days and really loved the time in this hotel. The breakfast was wonderful and being able to cook in your room helped make the trip affordable. Room is large and very comfortable. Our dishwasher had some issues and they fixed it right way. The parking is a block away, not secured and costs $12 per day...so beware.
Large suite, comfortable hotel

online travel website sold me a 2 bedroom suite, but the Residence Inn reserved (and had available) only a studio suite. I noticed the discrepancy immediately, and after 6 calls, online travel website made it right. I was amazed.
The suite was about the size of a 2 bedroom apartment. Very large for a hotel room. We had 4 women and really, we had extra room. The staff at the desk were excellent. The complimentary breakfast is great - eggs, bacon, waffles, yogurt, etc.
The hotel is located in a great location for Mardi Gras or any event at the Convention Center. If you're in N.O. solely to see the city and the Quarter, I would suggest something closer to Quarter. But if you're there for Mardi Gras, it's a 3 block walk to every parade.
The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. The hotel is constructed more like a motel, with 3 levels, adjacent to a courtyard with the pool, basketball goal, bbq grill, tables, umbrellas... very homey.
Parking was very reasonable considering it was Mardi Gras ($18). They lease space in nearby lots, so it's a little screwy but not terrible.
I have no idea how much a 2 BR suite should have been during Mardi Gras -with no screw up from online travel website. But for what I paid, there wasn't a better value in the city.
