At first glance, my husband was not thrilled with our room, but he later changed his mind as he came around to my thinking. I have wanted to stay in this hotel for many years, as it is a hip, artsy establishment with a European flare. He didn't like the red-light elevator but did feel great in the purple elevator. As you walk to your room, there is much to admire, as the hallways are decorated with many photos and pieces of art. I especially liked a black-and-white photo of a boxer that hung near our room. Each room is decorated differently, with careful attention to the art that adorns the walls of each room. The furniture is all angles and curves with soothing water colors. The room has a lot of space and a comfortable bed.
This hotel provides many amenities, but not all without cost. If you forgot your rubber ducky, it will cost you. A luxury-item kit (condoms) can also be purchased from the minibar. Personally, I love a room with a robe, so I was thrilled! If you really are the rocker type, be sure to ask for the Red Hot Love Nest on the fifth floor (wish it had been available!), as this room has been decorated by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, using their gear cases as furniture. In the morning, the lobby is filled with rocker and artsy types drinking coffee, either getting ready to visit galleries or just resting after a night on the local club scene. Hotel Triton has awesome service, as a request for a tea pot was promptly brought to our room at midnight.
