Gayle's Review

The Marriott was a fabulous place to stay. The room was beatifully appointed and the view was spectacular. The bed was luxurious, the bath towels were plush, and the amenities were high end. All of the staff members from the front desk, to the wait staff, to the people who take care of the cars, were gracious, kind, and fun to speak with. I would highly recommend this hotel because it made my weekend in LA one of the most memorable that I have had in quite a while. I also have to mention that the food was great, and they also have an adequate variety of wines that are available by the glass.

I was tired and wanted to get a nap in before my meeting that night. I was appalled when I pulled back the covers to see hair. I called the front desk and was told someone would be there immediately to take care of it. Well, an hour later I had to call again to finally get someone there. I got a call the next morning to tell me the whole staff was yelled at, so fearing retaliation I didn't get my room cleaned the rest of my stay. I assume this is the care they give to towels, robes etc... When the car showed up to take me to my meeting it took me 20 minutes to get downstairs due to the one operating elevator. The next day, however, the manager did call to offer me a free breakfast buffet the following day in addition to the free dinner the night manager gave me the night before. The only thing is the night manager didn't offer me anything. After enjoying my 3 pancakes and cup of coffee from the 20 dollar breakfast buffet, I noticed the free buffet coupon was only valid on Saturday or Sunday, I was there from Monday-Wednesday and they wrote that it expired on the day I checked out just to make sure I couldn't use it on a return trip should the rest of the hotels in LA be booked up giving me absolutely no other choices.

Me and my husband found a great " last minuet deal " for LA including flight + hotel + car so in this case we did not picked this Marriott. However, we liked the hotel. It was clean and nice and if you are in LA for business, God this location is amazing it is just right in front of World Trade Center and many other banks and institutes. We did not like the restaurant and bar much it was pricey for what they offer and you have to use Valet Parking $* pn, which is not too bad for downtown LA. Over all it was good but if I want to go to LA again for vacation I would not stay there, I perhaps book a room in Hollywood district or Santa Monica!

Great Hotel for the Weary Business Traveler!

Great Hotel for the Weary Business Traveler!

Very handy location to the Los Angeles financial district, major downtown venues including the Staples Center and the huge Convention Center complex. This hotel provided me a refuge after long hard days of meetings. The tranquil atmosphere of this hotel is a blessing. Thanks to those who designed the lobby, the restaurants, the pool area and gardens and most of all the guest rooms.

This hotel has the unusual distinction of having an actual garden in the concrete downtown city center. Although it is noisy, the pool area is a really nice place to calm down after a long day.

My room on the 5th floor of this hotel had a garden view, a bathroom with both a large bathtub, a separate shower and the usual Marriott piles of large, fluffy towels. My room was quiet at all times and featured large floor to ceiling windows, a large desk and a television, but no minibar or mini-fridge.

Service in this Marriott is above average. Don't pass up having a meal or several in the restaurants especially Moody's which is really great.

The doormen were great at getting us taxis even during rush hour and we were always away from the hotel in less than 4 minutes.
