Hotel Review

After spending four nights at the W in New Orleans, we can't say enough about the friendliness and helpfulness of its staff. From the bellhops and the desk clerk, to the concierge, the cleaning staff and mangement (who seemed to be constantly present and available), and even the maintenance...They all went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable.
Our room was cleaned promptly every day and the air conditioning actually kept the room cool. (If you have ever stayed in NOLA in the summer, you have likely discovered that is not always the case in a lot of the hotels...especially when the heat index is 110-115 degrees).
The only negative we could find about the W is that the bathroom was a little small.
Its location was ideal for our needs...Close to the Quarter, the CBD and across the street from Harrahs and Mothers.
We travel to NOLA 2-3 time a year and have stayed at various hotels. This one is a definite repeater.

I went with my husband for our one year aniversary and we got in at 10pm, they gave us the room and it was absolutly dirty, the toilet was dirty , the bed sheets, the wall, the carpet. We ran out of there and went to the Ritz Carlton.
The company gave us all the money back! they were very nice to us,
The staff in the hotel did nothing for us to stay! it was terrible
I would never stay there again

I have stayed at W hotels in both Chicago and New York and had an amazing experience this experience was amazing also but for all the wrong reasons. The room was dirty (black streaks on the walls in the bathroom, debris on the carpeting, smudges on the bathroom mirror) and all service was slow to no exisitent (ordered an extra pillow for two days before it arived), and the pool though very well done on the surface also lacked cleanliness and service (ciggertte buts and old band aids visable under the deck in the cabana old dishes and glasses in the cabanas present in morning and then still in the late afternoon). I am usaly not a very picky hotel guest but when I am paying more for a boutique hotel I expect boutique service.

I have stayed at the W a couple of times before, although it was few years ago. After my last visit this past week, I will never stay there again. The hotel had overbooked and had people waiting on their rooms for up to 7 hours on the day I checked in and as much as 4 hours the following day according to some of my friends that stayed there as well. My check in time was 3 but I was not able to check in until a little before 8 pm. The front desk staff was horrible and could have cared less about the hotel guest. In addition, the hotel bar ran out of beer/wine and the service was anything but good. Overall, it was one of the worst experiences I have had staying in a hotel, especially for one that is suppose to be so highly regarded. I would not recommend staying at this hotel, there are plenty of other places in New Orleans that are better located and I am sure care more about their guests.

I recently spent a lovely 3 nights at the W New Orleans and could not have been more pleased with the hotel. The check in was busy but very efficient and I was able to get my room quickly. The hotel is very chic and modern but it is still very comfortable and relaxing, I spent two afternoons relaxing by the pool and it was almost zen like. The hotel is in a most convenient location to the riverfront as well as the French Quarter. I would definately reccomend this hotel to other travelers.
