Beautiful but Noisy Rooms!

We had a beautiful room and enjoyed the evening reception with free drinks and swimming in the pool...however, as we went to bed that night we heard nothing but clanging dishes until 1am and again at 6am.
I would stay here again, ONLY if I had a room not on the atrium and not over the kitchen. I discussed this with the front desk and they said we could call a day or so before our arrival to request a quiet room!
Also, hotel is hard to find, it is behind a shopping center.

the room was very nice, spaceous, free internet, free breakfast and evening snacks. They even had arts and crafts activities for kids on Friday night. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were quiet and beds very comfortable.

Like all Embassy Suites, SLO's version offers two-room suites, a large atrium, cooked-to-order breakfast, and a manager's reception with complimentary cocktails. It is well kept and clean, offering the traveler a sure bet that they will be staying in a high-quality hotel.
The location is decent but could be better. The hotel is located off of Madonna Road in the Promenade shopping center parking lot near the highway. It is pretty quiet at the hotel, but don't expect great views or a beautiful outside area. To get to downtown SLO, you will probably need to take the freeway, but it is a short drive and the freeway is easily accessible from the hotel.
There are many restaurants nearby, including Applebee's, a Chinese restaurant, Hometown Buffet, Tahoe Joe's Steak House, Taco Bell, McDonald's, Denny's, and IHOP.
