This resort wears its crown well. We had a two-bedroom/two-bathroom unit on the fourth floor with a nice sized balcony looking over a small lake with a bridge. Though we were not crazy about the colors – red, green, blue, and yellow -- all the rooms were more than ample in size. We did like the spaciousness of the unit, including the two tiled bathrooms. We had four people in our unit and we never had the feeling of having to wait or being in the way. There was no need to compromise due to lack of space! The tiled kitchen has everything, and is crisp and clean with white cabinets, appliances, and counters. Each carpeted bedroom has a phone and a TV, and the master bedroom has a king-sized bed with a side door leading out to the balcony – it’s great for late night star-gazing or just sitting at the table enjoying the quiet. We did this a few nights when it was not FREEZING! The smaller bedroom has two double beds with a window. A counter/bar separates the kitchen from the living/dining area. There is a glass, rectangular table in the dining room with wicker chairs. The living room, too, is nicely decorated with a sleeper sofa and two well-cushioned chairs. The sliding glass door leads to the balcony. Extras made the unit feel special, like the throw pillows for the sofa and the beds and quite a few decorative plants in baskets and pots placed on tables, counters, and in corners. In addition, there is a stereo system and a VCR, as well as a washer and dryer. There is a jacuzzi just off the master bedroom and so much vanity space -- with three women in the unit, that was such a treat!
And talk about peace and quiet -- we never even saw another person on our floor, although the parking lot behind our building was quite full. The grounds are well-maintained and when we were there, the workers were putting fresh mulch around the many shrubs and trees. Blue, yellow, and white pansies were planted all around the resort. Check-in and check-out were smooth and easy.
The main building has several rooms that are used for guest activities, such as a computer access room. We didn't participate in resort-planned activities because there is so much to do in the Myrtle Beach area. There is a huge pool at this resort and, though we wanted to try it out, the air was just too cool for our middle-aged skin. The pool extends inside to provide for lousy weather. Security is a priority because to enter this resort, you need to show that you belong inside. A mile east of this resort is the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and minutes away are many fabulous restaurants and shopping areas; right across the street is Broadway at the Beach with its many attractions. WHAT A GREAT LOCATION! There is no better place to stay than the Sheraton's Broadway Plantation.
