Wonderfully Luxurious hotel!

My husband and I just came back from San Diego and stayed at the US Grant for 4 nights. It is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. I have stayed at some nice Sheraton's and Westin's but the US Grant beats them. I'll start with the bed. Pillow top mattress, crisp clean sheets with softness that can only come from a high thread count. Perfect pillows. A dimmer switch for the light over your head. The shower is marble and huge. A vessel sink in the bathroom. 2 huge bath sheets t0 wrap yourself in after a shower. We ate breakfast twice in the restaurant. Fantastic service and food. They greeted us by name. When we came back from our day of adventures, the doorman said "Welcome glack. It is good to see you again.". It was like what I imagine staying at the White House would be like.
Very Impressed

I stayed at the Grant for a work related conference and was very impressed. The rooms were luxurious, clean, and stocked with everything I needed. The turndown service was a nice touch as well.
The conference facilities were also excellent, as was the food and beverages that went along with them. The staff was attentive and friendly at all times and the concierge was very helpful with dinner reservations and suggestions.
The location couldn't have been better. Downtown San Diego has come a long way, and the fact that we were within walking distance of a vast array of restaurants, bars, and shopping was a huge convenience- especially since we didn't have cars. I would recommend the Gaslamp Strip Club- a fun cook it yourself steakhouse in the Gaslamp District, and also the roof-top bar at Stngarees.
Overall, my stay could not have been better (with the exception of free wireless in the rooms. This was a small touch that would have added a lot of value). I would recommend it to leisure and business travelers alike.
