Throughout the night we heard the loud elevator every time it was used, as our room was right next to the shaft. We asked about switching rooms due to the noise but we ended up staying in the room because we were only there for 2 nights but in order ...Read more

The Baldwin is a small hotel without a lot of bells and whistles. If you are staying in SF to see the sights and enjoy the city, this is the place to stay! We stayed in Room 904, which didn't have much of a view, but it was pretty quiet and roomy ...Read more

The hotel is very near to the center and to China Town. It's near to all good shops, to the bus sightseeing stop and to a Starbucks Coffee.

The baldwin is an excellent location in downtown sanfrancisco, close to union square and chinatown. We stayed in a remodeled room which was facing the alley and very quiet. The staff were friendly and accomodating. We would definitely stay again!

My husband and I stayed at the Baldwin Hotel for 6 nights, and it was an excellent stay. The bathroom was very nice, and provided shampoo, conditioner, body soap and facial soap. We requested an extra pillow and it was at our door within minutes! ...Read more
Its like staying on a garbage truck route

The room was barely comfortable. The worst part was that the hotel is located on a garbage truck route. At 4 to 5 am every morning the trucks would roll down the street picking up the trash from the commercial buildings in the area. The trucks pick ...Read more

I was pleasantly surprised to see how neat and clean this older hotel was! Even the paint seemed new and the tile grout was sparkling! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood felt fine for a single female to be in. It was about ...Read more
