Good midtown hotel

The hotel was very convenient to the shows and good restaurants and the staff was helpful and friendly. The nearest subway stop was about four blocks away and the subways that ran through that stop were limited so you had to transfer to get to many parts of the city. My two main complaints were the elevators were very slow (and there were too few of them for the number of guests) and the bathroom had very little space to put toiletries. The room was small but I expect small rooms in New York. The maid staff was very polite and very efficient. I would suggest booking a room on one of the lower floors so walking up the stairs to get to your room is a viable option. We were on the 17th floor so we were forced to wait for the elevators to go up (although we did walk down a few times when the elevator was particularly slow).

Lovely building, great location, friendly staff, hard mattress

The Belvedere is a lovely hotel in the Art Deco style. The location is close to Broadway, in a pleasant neighborhood. The staff is friendly, efficient and helpful, and the rooms are quite nice, with a small refrigerator and microwave for guests' convenience. Unfortunately, the mattresses are extremely hard. My traveling companion and I slept very poorly, tossing and turning all night. The bath linens are scratchy, as though line-dried rather than in a dryer. If they replace the mattresses and add some fabric softener to the wash, I would happily stay at the Belvedere again.

Great Hotel, Better Service

The hotel was amazing. The Decor was really modern and nice, The hotel was clean and beds were confortable. The staff very helpful, they directed us on how to save hundreds on show tickets, where most hotels would only offer you there services, stadd multiple times showed us the best options which were outside the hotels services. We had a end corner room which had an elevator next to it, felt like we had our own private elevator (only once in 4 day was another person in it).

We have made numerous trips to New York City over the past 25 - 30 years and have stayed at a number of different hotels. Given its central location to the Broadway theaters, the rates are a very good value. Our room was clean and spacious and included a microwave and refrigerator. The only limitation was the size of the bathroom - rather small! We found the staff to be quite attentive and accommodating. We requested a 1:00 pm checkout instead of noon and we were accommodated with no problem. Would not hesitate to return.
