Disappointed

This hotel is badly in need updating and repair. The pool area was dirty and the buildings themselves looked very run down. When we checked in we were not informed of any problems with our room but as soon as we tried to use the toilet we found out that they were having plumbing problems. They assured us they would be corrected shortly. After 41/2 hours we still did not have a usable toilet. It was a hotel wide problem so we could not change rooms. At our insistence the front desk staff got us another room at a different La Quinta in town. The front desk staff were very helpful and polite, but I would not recommend this location until much needed improvements are made.

If your employer is paying the tab, the Embassy Suites is right down the street a few blocks. This is NOT the Embassy Suites. On the other hand, the price is right. I just needed a crash pad for a few nights while relocating to a new job in Huntsville. The staff is friendly, helpful, and reasonably competent. The room was nothing to get excited about, but it was safe, convenient, and easy to access (compared to large hotels where you have to use the elevator to get to the n-th floor with all your bags, etc.). Ice maker worked, which is a plus. Breakfasts are better at other places, but this one has waffles, bagles, cereal, & fruit - enough to get you started. For the price, I didn't expect crepes or eggs florentine. All in all, if you'll be in Huntsville, this is a good, inexpensive place to stay. If you're picky and used to staying at places like Embassy Suites, you'd better pony up the money and stay at the Embassy Suites. . . nobody likes a whiner.

Breakfast area has Health Rating of 75 which is barely passing. Toilet leaked and was noisy all night, complained to no avail. Drive under canopy: pavement is oil laden and I busted my rear when I got out of my vehicle and the staff was completely unconcerned. This is a bad area of town, there are much nicer hotels for the money that are just as close to the center. Also we complained to the travel agency who kept us on the phone for 2 hours and did nothing. We also complained to LaQuinta. NEVER EVER STAY HERE!!!
Would book again and great value

We got a great deal just before the labor day weekend. Our actual room w/ the double bed was overbooked, but the front desk was friendly and gave us the king sized w/ no extra charge. It was located between 2 shopping malls and easy to get to. We had our dog with us and there wasn't a charge for him to stay which was nice. When leaving, our dog even locked us out by pushing on the door. Thanks to the friendly room service lady she let us in so that we could get on our way!
