I’m relatively new at my job and wanted to impress my new boss with a seemless meeting in Amarillo. The Ambassador Hotel made this happen. I booked over 25 rooms at the Ambassador Hotel for business colleagues going to Amarillo for sales calls. All expressed a positive experience with their stays – yeah for me!
We did a client meeting and event in one of the Ambassador’s meeting rooms for about 55 people. Everything, I mean everything was perfect. The meeting room, catering, and hospitality given by the staff can’t be matched by anyone. They went the extra mile, even giving my attendees the inside scoop on things to do in Amarillo. Many of the Ambassador Hotel staff have been there for years and it shows in their service. They care about their guests. I felt that my business was valued and I was able to make my boss proud!
If you are looking to do meetings or events in Amarillo, The Ambassador Hotel is the place to be to experience the 'Texas Hospitality' you have always heard about.

My husband travels frequently for business, and stays at the Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo. With our hectic work schedules, we decided to combine a business trip with a romantic get-a-away for our fifth anniversary. I thought the Ambassador Hotel – Amarillo would be a good choice since it looked so nice and inviting on the website, and my husband said he found the rooms comfortable and the staff very friendly.
To celebrate this special occasion, I was surprised with a romantic package. Our room was on their club level and had a king bed and large leather sofa. When we got to our room, there was a bottle of champagne and a basket with wonderful chocolates, cheese & crackers, and even champagne flutes for us to take home. The bathrobes were a great finishing touch. The package also included several great choices for breakfast each morning. The first morning we chose to stay in our bathrobes and have breakfast delivered to our room. On the second day, we opted to dine at Heritage Park, which is located in the beautiful atrium area of the Hotel. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of scrumptious looking items, but I must say the pancakes were the best!
Our weekend also included relaxing at the indoor jacuzzi, and enjoying nightly cocktails in the Cattle Baron’s Lounge. We did leave the hotel for some sightseeing, and visited a fun place called Cadillac Ranch. Who would have thought that seeing old Cadillac’s half-buried in a cow pasture could be so much fun? But, it was!
If you are going to Amarillo, the Ambassador Hotel is the perfect place to stay for business or pleasure. You will not be sorry!

We stayed at the Ambassador Hotel ? Amarillo while attending a class reunion. The service was great. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Our room was good-sized with a great leather chair and ottoman. The beddings are updated, and the price was very affordable.
The Ambassador Hotel is a great place to hold a special event, with nice rooms for various types of gatherings. The service was excellent at our banquet.
The lobby of the hotel is as attractive as it appears on its Internet site. We loved the large atrium area that covers the pool. Having a Friday?s Bar and Grill right in the hotel was nice. Everyone enjoyed having a place to meet throughout the weekend without having to leave the hotel. The location of the Ambassador Hotel is convenient in the center of Amarillo & easy access to I-40.
Would most definitely stay here again!
Would Stay at the Ambassador Hotel Amarillo Again
I recently stayed in Amarillo at Ambassador Hotel for a business trip, and had a very positive experience. The other hotels in Amarillo are just upscale "motels". I needed a real hotel with real hotel facilities and services. The rate was very affordable and the value for the money spent, excellent.
The staff was very courteous as well as efficient and helpful and made check-in a breeze. The rooms are great with the business traveler in mind. My squeaky clean room had free wi-fi internet, a chair with a footstool that was great for relaxing while working on my laptop, and a very comfortable king bed. I found an exercise room for my morning workouts, and was pleased to find that the Heritage Park Café offered a breakfast buffet. It was nice not having to leave the hotel for a good breakfast.
Their lobby area is a great place to meet with clients in Amarillo. The Ambassador Hotel even has a business center in the lobby that worked well for me when I needed to quickly print documents.
When I return to Amarillo again, I will book the Ambassador hotel without question. As far as I am concerned, The Ambassador Hotel - Amarillo is the only business hotel in Amarillo!
Smells Like Cigarettes, Old Sheets, Old Furniture, Stained Towels

We checked into a non smoking room. Smelled like cigarettes extremely bad....like a pool hall. I complained to the front desk. the rooms were booked so we were stuck. We were there the weekend of July 4th. The room became a non smoking room in March. They did not change the furniture, carpet, or drapes. The ceiling was yellow from smoke .The sheets were so old there were little balls on them....the towels were stained. I am sure this was a nice hotel in the 1970's...it has not been renovated since. I paid $ for one night. I did not get my room discounted because I booked through the travel website. So 2 lessons learned....Never stay at the Ambassador, and Never book your reservations through the travel website. I just expect a nice, clean, renovated room fore $ a night.
