Relax in Luxury

I had a relaxing time at the lodge. The service was wonderful and all of my needs were met. The Spa was professional and the staff friendly. The staff at the front desk was always friendly and helpful when I needed directions. The food in the dinning room was excellent and I enjoyed having the breakfast buffet right there at the lodge . I can't wait to visit again.

"Good location, poor service"

Can't beat the location. But, service was fair at best (room not cleaned on second day, slow and resentful service). Restaurant is fine, but again, service is slow. It's a shame -- this could be a great hotel if only customers came first.

Bed like a rock

Just recently stayed four nights at the end of March 2007 in a room that had one a Queen size bed. The bed was like a rock and we both woke up with back aches. The floor had no rugs and was so slippery we constantly had to watch we didn?t slip and fall. The bath room was on the small side with a tiny sink that had very little space to put things out. The water pressure in the shower was poor at best. Breakfast Buffet at the Hotel was on the expensive side but lunch was much more reasonable. Sloooow service.

The room was very nice. All the furniture was Colonial styled, didn't look like mass-produced furniture at all. Had a nice view from the room of the courtyard below. The room was very large for the price. The Hotel was convenient to walk to everything in Colonial Williamsburg, and the staff was very friendly.

Nice authenticity

This hotel is in an excellent location for a visit to Colonial Williamsburg, given that it is literally right outside the door. It was also fairly convenient to Busch Gardens and Water Country. I would caution not to stay here with little kids though, as the rooms feature hardwood floors, which is a nice touch for a hotel that is going for the colonial decorating theme. But they were kind of slippery and my toddler had difficulty navigating around. I highly recommend the hotel for adults though.
