The Auld Kirk appealed to me simply due to the idea of staying in a transformed church. I loved it. Peter, the owner, was amazing. He was considerate and showed us how things in the room worked (which is not always the case, let me tell you). The room was very nice and the bathroom was a dream. Peter was also very informative of the area when we discussed the coutryside with him later. XYZ was also a jem found at the Auld Kirk. She talked to us forever about the area and the pleasures of traveling though Scotland. Because of XYZ we changed our plans the next day and visited Balmoral Castle just a few miles down the road (the change of plans was well worth it too- Thanks Diane). Although we didn't have dinner at the Auld Kirk I have no doubt it would have been just as pleasurable an experience as our stay at the Auld Kirk was. I greatly recommend this B&B.
