Our overall experience was a good one. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was OK. The cleanliness of the bedroom was very good, but the living room was in desperate need of a cleaning. The curtain on the window was dirty and ripped and it took away from the rest of the appearance of the room. A small thing like that is something that takes a minor repair, but would make a world of difference. We got the suite at a very good price, so I felt like the suite was a deal, although if I paid more, I would have been disappointed.

This was a very nice hotel. After walking all day around town nothing felt better than a cool room and that nice soft bed. The only problem with this hotel was that our room number kept falling off the door every day. It seems that they are doing alot of remodeling and there are a few glitches in the system but this was a very nice place. A few blocks from Grand Central Station so you can easily use subway to go about town. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would rate this a 9 out of 10. For my first time in NYC I am quite happy and intend to return.

we were exhausted from our layover flight from dfw through Minneapolis and when we opened
the door to our spacious suite we exploded with relief. Large living room & kitchenette, TWO bedrooms with two incredibly comfortable queen sized beds in each and each with there own full bathrooms! WOW! My wife kissed me with excitement. We were traveling with my mother and our two boys so it was perfect! Denis the doorman was great help with hailing cabs and info.
great location within walking distance from almost every thing mid town. don't bother with the golden touch transfers. a cab ride from Laguardia would have been much cheeper and there
was nothing luxurious about it ! they were an hour late for our pick up back to the airport!
they are remodeling so noisy during the day but who want's to stay in with so much to do
in the city! Will be great when it's finished and more expensive I'm sure. loved it! Incredible view of the empire state building out of our window!

The shelbourne is within walking distance to everything. Another bonus is Grand Central is only a few blocks away. I recommend Scotty's Dinner at 38th and Lexington for a late , late Dinner after midnight. They Just may have a show. I will stay here whenever I travel to the city.
