When I arrived they were doing construction on the front main entrance to the hotel. There was a clean walkway for guest though. At check-in I was upgraded into a suite for no apparent reason! It was beautiful! It was an all new room with a living room, kitchen, large bedroom and glass shower! The staff was friendly and very helpful. The workout room was under construction and internet was expensive. Very close to grand central station to catch the subway.
Excellent

Loved the hotel and location. The staff were helpful and responsive to our needs. The room we had was very good, plenty of room for 4 adults. It was a deluxe suite. with microwave oven and fridge with ice machine and flat screen TV. We loved the choices for pillows, very decadent. We went there for the St. Pat's parade and the hotel location was great. They had a restaurant bar in the hotel, which had a good selection in the menu. The rooftop was under renovation and we were not able to access it at this time. Will definitely stay here again.
Totlly Terrific!

We have stayed at the Shelburne for the last two summers. It could not have been more perfect. I cannot wait to see the new remodel. Highly recommended. We will be back!

We were warned by the online travel agency that construction was going on, but it was louder than expected. We were woken up every morning by the pounding that seemed to be coming from the next room. The wi-fi worked sporatically, making it near impossible to get any work out or stay in contact with clients. I complained to the front desk and the manager said she would give me a discount on a future stay. She never emailed me that information. The hotel rooms are very nice, but the hotel is 4 blocks from a subway and a bit overpriced for the service or lack there of provided.
Better than expected!

We went on a family vacation and booked two rooms at the Shelburne Murray Hill Hotel. Both rooms were incredibly spacious! One room was much larger than the other, but it did not have the view that the second room had (East River from living room window, Chrysler building from bedroom). The only suggestion for improvement is for the furniture to be dusted more often (dust was most likely due to the fact that the hotel was still renovating rooms on our floor). I was glad that before booking this hotel, I had read a review mentioning that the hotel has scaffolding on the outside and to expect some minor constuction. None of this had any kind of negative impact on our stay- the interior is top-notch. The hotel staff was outstanding - always curteous and professional. The hotel has a bar on the rooftop with great atmosphere and view. Restaurant inside hotel ("Rare") was incredible! My husband ordered the filet mignon burger and was very pleased. My son raved about the turkey burger - said it was the juiciest and most flavorful that he's ever enjoyed. Location was terrific - it is a small hike to Times Square, Empire State Building and Central Park. Grand Central and Chrysler building are close, and you can grab a subway or taxi if you don't want to work off the calories you'll consume at some great restaurants in the vicinity (recommend Hiroshima and Duke's). Take the City Tour Bus at night - and be sure to visit Madame Toussard's in Time Square (creepy how real a few of the wax figures were!) . Would definitely recommend the Shelburne Murray Hill Hotel.
