The ocean view from our room was wonderful. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. The only cleaning complaint was that two dirty room service glasses sat in the hallway across from our room for two days. The lack of a continental breakfast was also dissapointing. Fortunately, there were stores nearby to get supplies and nice restaurants in town. The restaurant at the motel seemed a little expensive, but the smells from their outdoor grill were wonderful. Overall it was an okay room with a terrific view.

Meets and Exceeds Expectations

This is my fourth trip to this hotel in six years. This is my hotel of choice in the Newport area. The staff is consistantly friendly and efficient, with what appears to be little turn over. They respond quickly to requests and go out of their way to give you good driving directions and suggestions of where to stop on the drive. I've had both takeout from the restaurant (a tad pricey but good) and a drink with the friendly bartender. The view of the beach is to die for. The rooms facing the beach can smell a little musty but that is far outweighted by the beautiful view of the lighthouse. The pool is a good temperature and beautifully clean although the smell of clorhine is very strong. It needs some ventilation in the pool area. This hotel also has a dog friendly floor. The staff was good enough to advise me that I needed to make a reservation far in advance as the hotel is often full when I inquired how that worked.. This is a great hotel for the price and lives up to it's advertisements. (I hate to tell you that because I'd like this to be a well kept secret....)

Everything was fine, staff were very nice, only thing wrong no air conditioning - kept sliding glass door open all night, room was still hot. Guess we hit a hot spell.
