The Waldorf at It's Best!

The Waldort Towers was simply Outstanding in every way possible! I stayed in a Luxury Suite at the cost of a standard room at most hotels in the area. Exceptional service. Tripple AAA is the way to stay!

Disappointing

It was our first time staying at the Waldorf and we were looking forward to it, given its reputation. We definitely were disappointed. It took nearly an hour to check in--their computers were "slow". Our rooms were old and unimpressive. We realize that it is an old hotel, but the rooms should have been renovated more recently in order to feel more plush and modern. We don't mind splurging for a nice hotel, but the Waldorf failed to deliver on the luxury for the price. It seems like they're relying on their historic reputation because shoddy rooms and slow check-in are not acceptable. The only plus was the location, but there's a W across the street and we'll try that next time. With all the hotel options in Manhatten, we will not be staying at the Waldorf again.

Wonderful Time

WOW! Our stay at the Waldorf was absolutely wonderful. The view we had was not the best, but the service and accommodations were outstanding. Yes the hotel is old, but it is timeless and absolutely gorgeous during the holiday season. The location was within walking to almost everywhere we went. Staying on 5th Avenue was worth every penny we spent. We will return.

What Has Happened to the Waldorf?

My husband and I have stayed at the legendary Waldorf Astoria on many occasions and always considered it a luxury. Alas, this visit was anything but luxurious. Where are the beautiful flowers in the lobby? the piano playing in the late afternoon? the courteous check-in process? We were treated with rudeness and condescension at check-in and given a room with no view, offensive cleaning smells, and a small bathroom with no bathrobes provided. The Astoria Lounge on the concierge level was not open in the afternoon as we had been told. For $** per night I certainly expected more. We will no longer stay at the Waldorf Astoria as The New York Palace or The Regis will now receive our business during our visits to the city we love. Very sad. Adieu.

dream weekend

It has always been a dream of mine to visit the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. From the time we arrived at the hotel until the moment we checked out I felt the essence of royalty. The interior of the hotel is regal and majestic, as I knew it would be, and when time (and money!) permits, I will enjoy another stay at this legendary hotel.
