Motel HELL

I specifically asked for a NON smoking room with 2 double beds (I had my 3 kids with me). I made the reservartion at the hotel. The next day, I went to check in, and I was given a ?handicapped room? with only 1 king sized bed. The room REEKED of cigarette smoke. I told the clerk about the error. I told her that the room was not what I requested. She proceeded to tell me that there were no other rooms available, except for a suite, which would cost me about $20 more. I asked if I would be charged the lower rate, and she said only if I had a ?confirmation page,? that the man should have given me the night before. I was given nothing, and she said it was "my responsibility" to get the form before I left. I asked, "what if I did it over the phone, then I wouldn't have a confirmation page?" She was clueless and silent. It was Deadwood motorcycle weekend, and all rooms in Custer were full. I was forced to get the suite, and the rude woman refused to wait on me, so a nice, young girl took care of me instead. The entire experience was AWFUL. She chose to be rude instead of accommodate me for THEIR error. I don't care if it was only $20 more. She was extremely rude and insulting and acted as if she "owned" the motel instead of just working the front desk.

Originally, I was booked at another hotel in Custer; however, the accomodations were not as advertised, so we decided to stay at Comfort Suites in Custer. It was above any expectations I could have had for a hotel. From the point of check in to check out, everything was perfect. The staff was professional and friendly. The price was very reasonable. There were a lot of choices in the continental breakfast, especially the homemade waffles, which were excellent! The pool was well maintained and good size. We especially enjoyed watching all of the deer that were within view of the hotel. There were several fun things to do and see within walking distance. I will definitely be back again!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The service was outstanding! Room was clean and modern. The bed was great, we regret not asking where to buy the pillows! Awesome down pillows (they didn't even bother our severe allergies). The breakfast was unbelievable-waffles, cereal, bagels, boiled eggs, donuts, toast, fresh fruit, milk, juice, coffee, tea, etc. They were very quick to refill also. I can't say enough. We didn't have time for the pool, but it looked nice.
