If you are ready for an adventure

If you are ready for an adventure this place is worth every penny. Old stone and brick walls, high ceilings... Clean and safe place near the central bus station, right in the middle of Latin Quarter, the service personal is nice and friendly - though you need to be prepared for an adventure: what they tell you one day doesn't necessarily apply also the next day... The terms of contract are not always very clearly defined, they are often negotiated right there on the spot... Also their Internet works - sometimes - sometimes not... Simply, this is not one of those franchise chain hotels where everything is mechanized and the customer is always right - the place definitely has a character (in good as well as in bad meaning of this word).

Decent Room for Your Buck

Only complaint is that a few things were in desperate need of a handymans touch. A little bit of maintenance work like tightening the screws on the doorknob, fixing a portion of the window shutter, and the light fixture and towel rack in bathroom were coming undone. But don't get me wrong, the room was very beautiful and centrally located. We walked EVERYWHERE and easily found places to hit up at night that were nearby when we grew tired from walking all day. The building itself was very quiet and cozy. Room was relatively small but warm enough for being the middle of the winter season. Cleaning lady is very friendly and the hotel attendant is usually there til late; not overnight though?? Stay away from the pizza joint around the corner! Much better food down the street :)

Latin Quarter Rocks!!!

I checked-in to the hotel for the weekend of Halloween with some friends. We wanted to have fun and enjoy it. The location of the hotel was perfect, located near all the nigthlife places, it totally rocks...the Latin Quarter was the place to be in, lots of people walking all the time. The room was very nice, wood floor, very exotic room with the brick walls, it was quite antique. We had a queen bed with a sofa-bed (Studio Loft) and with the private bathroom ofcourse. The reception was there during the day, however, not all the time. On our first night, the reception was closed for most of the night while during the weekend, there was someone all the time until I believe 2 or 3 in the morning. The room was fairly clean and we had to put the 'vacuum' sign posted outside the door in order for the maid to do the room (one thing you have to consider). Overall, we had fun walking in and out as we wanted, we were guided by the front desk to different clubs and lounges. They were fun and the weekend of Halloween completely rocked for us! We will surely come again.

If you want to stay in Vegas on a budget,  you should look downtown for your hotel. We stayed here at the Fitzgeralds, and it was cheap but well-maintained for its age. You can take bus, shuttles, trolley, and taxi to the Strip 24 hours a day. Fremont experience is literally a step away. Drinks and food are cheaper downtown. There is a movie theater and Gameworks across the street. A 24-hour Walgreens store is next door, which comes in handy for last-minute snacks, drinks, sundries, or, god forbid, a prescription refill if needed. Also take FREE shuttle (it's a nice tour bus) from downtown to Sam's town for a cheap but great buffet that the locals love.

Our accommodations were moderate. Clean frieldly service at a great price. We have learned to stay downtown on Freemont Street. They have just put in a new pool, small but nice. We always ask for a room up high, usually in the 30's, with a view of Red Rock Canyon. The corner rooms are the best as they have a wrap-around window. The view is spectacular in the morning with the sun shining on the different colors.

They have the best Players' Club program -- we belong to them all, with great comps. We are nickle slot players and usually get at least three of our nights free. The buffet is small, but tasty. Good choice of games and quick service.
