Beware of booking Double rooms

We arrived after midnight on 12/28.I had booked a double room for 3 guests.I had broken my knee 2 days before Christmas and needed a bed to myself. Upon arrival we were informed there were no doubles for our stay and they would put us in a King and bring a roll away. Upon inspecting the room it was too small for my mobility and I would have trouble sleeping the duration of the trip in the rollway. My son went back to the front desk and complained and was repeatedly told there were no doubles available, which he refused to accept, and after an hour they miraculously came up with a double room at 2 in the morning. The next morning we went back to the front desk and complained about the inconvenience of the prior night and how we were lied to - we were then moved to yet another double room with handicap accomodations - so there were multiple doubles available. All these issues ate up bits of our trip. Hotel is handy to trolley pick up which benefited me with my injury, and cabs were plentiful. Elevators in good supply and repair, hotel is beautiful, and an amazing breakfast downstairs. We were able to order in food from local restaurants late at night and during inclement weather. Good facility, not the best rooms I've stayed in in Chicago and not the very best views.Might say here again-might not. Average say with many problems.

I love this hotel. I as supposed to go with 5 girlfriends and one of them backed out. We originally had 2 separate rooms, 3 in each room, but since one did not make it, the hotel gave us an upgrade. We were given 2 adjoining rooms, which made it much nicer. The hotel is clean, beds are comfortable and the hotel is close to shopping. All staff were very friendly.

My husband and I along with another couple went to Chicago for the first time. The Sheraton Hotel and Towers was great!! We had a great view of the canal and the Chicago Tribune. At night the lights were beautiful. The service desk was very helpful with questions and were always willing to help in anyway they could. The only thing that was a little negative was the charge for everything extra. Like the bottled water they put in your room..... it was almost $6.00 a bottle. That was a alittle steep. And the candy bars and drinks they had in the fridge were very pricey too.. But all in all the stay there was great.... We would stay there again in a heart beat.
I enjoyed this hotel, until....

I loved the location of the hotel, its right in the downtown area, but i also like how it is a little secluded on it's own, good to get out and actually walk around and not have to cab it everywhere. Rooms were nice, staff was friendly I really couldn't complain until i came home after shopping trying to get ready and realized most my belongings were gone, after looking everywhere i called the front desk, housekeeping had accidentally threw my belongings out, all my cosmetics, perfume, cleansers etc. im a make-up artist so i have some eye pencils that cost $30, among other stuff! They had probably thrown out at least $500 of stuff, and I still was staying there another night and had no belongings to get ready with. They went on to say the woman who cleaned my room has worked there for years etc. Im not saying she stole the items but considering they were there when I left, and gone when i came back, after my room was cleaned! After a while of letter-writing and back forth with their head of security (i'll keep their name anonymous) they told me to go out and repurchase all my items and send in all my receipts, and there accounting office would write me a check. To this day i haven't received a check, and will never stay at this hotel for that reason!
