Lovely stay

We stayed at this hotel while bringing our daughter to visit Duke and UNC. It was the perfect location, very comfortable and beautiful surroundings. The view of the golf course is breathtaking and tranquil. Pool is nice, but was noisy with unsupervised kids when we tried to use pool one day. Everything very clean and staff very helpful although a little bit pretentious. Concierge was extremely helpful and printed our boarding passes for us while we were on tours. Would definately stay again. Dinner in Bull Durham was just what we wanted and delicious.

Wonderful experience

As a female , traveling alone and having the added issue of a walking disability, I was most concerned with safety and convenience. This hotel far exceeded my expectations on both counts. When arriving at the hotel, I was immediately captured by the beauty of it's setting surrounded by beautiful gardens with mature trees and bordering a magnifacent golf course (what a refreshing change from cookie cutter hotel chains). Although the hotel's common areas are grand as well as elegantly furnished and decorated, they exude a cozy welcoming feel. Add to this, a staff that could not be more pleasnat and helpful (the staff will often address the guests by name). This was very comforting especially when returning from a day spent at Duke Medical Center visiting a seriously ill sibling. The convenience of having the hotel shuttle at my disposal for trips to and from the hospital was as wonderful as the drivers. The drivers (all from the bell staff) were a bounty of local information and would often offer me a bottle of water to take along for the day. My room was comfortable and quiet. I'm not a very good sleeper so I was a little concerned that my room faced the fromt of the hotel . I need not have worried. This hotel does not have many late night check-ins and though it might be busteling with activity in the evening, everything quiets down well before eleven. Houskeeping was thorough, helpful, and pleasant. I stayed for five nights and would not hesitate to return. I must add that I dined in for breakfast and lunch on a few occaisions and was not dissapointed. The food and dining room staff was, like everything else in this hotel, absoloutely wonderful .

This will now be our place to stay when we go to a men's basketball game! Cameron Indoor is a short walk across the street. The hotel is beautiful. We did not have a chance to roam the grounds but was certainly a lovely view from our room. The room is comfortable and relaxing. We ate lunch at the bar/restaurant and was so yummy and room service was just as tasty. Wonderful place to stay!

Stayed during trip to NJ from Texas, and again on way back. Great place to stay for Duke fans. Staff is very good and answered any questions or problems we had. Hopefully will stay again sometime in the near future.

The Duke Life

We had a quick stay during a football game at Duke. There is no better lodging for a Duke sports outing. Wallace Wade Stadium, Cameron fieldhouse, and all of the outdoor fields are across the street. The hotel is luxurious and well-kept, and the staff is among the friendliest and most helpful I have ever encountered.
