My three requirements for a hotel room are: Cleanliness, location and price. Chelsea Star met all three. It is conveniently located near Penn Station and the subway. It was very clean and security seemed good. I was very comfortable in the neighborhood. I will be staying there again in October.

We've stayed at Ch. Star beginning of July for four days. My girlfriend and I booked a superior room which has its own bathroom. We did not stayed at the hotel that much during the day we were out shopping and enjoying this cool city. As this was out first time to NYC we asked lot of questions from the front desk guys. They were always nice and patient with us despite the lot of work they had to do at the same time. The overall experience was great and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a guest oriented place for a bargain in NYC.

Shopping, Broadway & dining, didn't want to spend our entire budget on accommodation. The superior room was adequate size, very clean and a large bathroom, big enough for two to get ready for a night on the town. As walkers and the location couldn't be better. There is a small courtyard that is great to enjoy your morning coffee. the manager was a wealth of information on New York; where to grab a beer, get a coffee & bagel, galleries/museums, shopping & how to navigate subway. We will stay there again.

I stayed here while on business in NYC. This hotel looked like a funky place to stay. My initial thought was to stay in a themed room, but at the manager's discretion, I chose to stay in one of the new rooms you see on their website. I stayed in a deluxe room, which was huge! I had a king-size bed, a sitting area, a huge desk, and even an over-sized bathroom with funky colors! While I did not stay in the room long (whenever I wasn't in meetings, I was taking advantage of the fact that I was in NYC), it was very comfortable and quick to get back to at night--the hotel is a block from Madison Square Garden. The staff is very helpful and the place in general is great for the price. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in town.

My friends and I stayed in three private rooms on the third floor. Rooms are very comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. The staff is great and set up our touring route daily. The hotel was just expanded and includes another building next door. The terrace was decorated with festive lights and the location is close to transportation (buses, subways, trains), the Empire State Building, Midtown, theatres, clubs, Madison Square Garden, and restaurants. The price is right, so we were able to stay for 1 week at the hotel.

The location is in the Chelsea section of Manhattan, across the street from Madison Square Garden. It's a kind of funky area, with lots of opportunities to see a broad range of New Yorkers. The hotel is cool. During this stay, there were lots of Europeans there; several of those I met had stayed there before.

There are also a lot of people from the music industry who stay there. Read their guest book and you know you are staying in a nice place.

Yeah, it doesn't have room service, but so what. There are tons of restaurants that will deliver to your room if you don't want to go out. And for the price, we always have a great time and don't feel like we are overpaying to stay in NYC.
