Great rate. Good location. Smells

This is a great hotel for those who are on a budget. It is well located to downtown (i.e., easy walk). They have updated a very old hotel to approximate a Hampton Inn type hotel. It has many of the amenities that one would look for such as light self-serve breakfast and toiletries in the rooms. Unfortunately, there is a strong odor in the halls and in the rooms. It seems they are attempting to cover up something with a very strong air freshner because the smell is so strong. In fact, anyone who is allergic to smells would not be able to stay here. When we took showers, the smell was much worst as if the steam brought out the smell even more. Staff worked hard but only one person on desk slowed down service when it was busy. Overall, it is a grea bargain, but would not stay again.

My room was clean, TV worked great. We had coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, iron, tiny workout room, and free breakfast - waffles. One computer available for guest use, did not try it. Not much going on in this area on the weekend.
