Crestwood Suites Review

This hotel was in a good location, and the room set up was nice. On the negative side, the shower curtain had mildew on it, and someone had obviously killed bugs on the walls, but they were not cleaned off. That was kind of gross. Ther was also mildew on the inside of the hall closet door. I think more attention needs to be paid to the cleanliness of the room. The stay served its purpose for me, but I would not bring my family back to this hotel.

Car was damaged in the parking lot.

The hotel is simply too old and feels unsafe. The doors of many rooms have clear signs of attempts to pry open from outside. The first room was with constantly 'chirping' smoke alarm. Called the front desk and a man told me 'I will see what I can do' and nothing was done for four hours. Called again and a lady gave me another room but this time the room door had no 'safety latch' on the inside. Some one ripped it off the door. I was to forced to carry the laptop and other semi-valuables with me all throughout the trip. Following day, I noticed that there was no housekeeping done and I did not have any towels, shampoo, nor soap. So I went to the front desk and the lady said she freshly ran out of all those and gave me some smallest hand towels. Overall, the place is ran like dumpster and did not feel safe at all. online travel website had the hotel with three stars but IMHO, it does not even deserve two.

SURPRISINGLY GOOD

We were visitng the Durham area over the holidays and money was an issue. I found this hotel online with an incredible nightly rate of $. I was leary (especially since we were obligated to three nights) but took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were large and the place was clean. The radically reduced rate was possible due to no maid service at all during our stay and a minimum of towels and "product" (consisting of one small bottle of shampoo and one bar of soap). Services I take for granted but just realized I don't really need. We are scheduled to visit Durham in the spring when our daughter graduates from Duke University. Will definitely return to Crestwood Suites and recommend it to family who will also be attending the graduation.

Never Again - We check out early!

It's not worth the price savings. It is located down a scary street. We got in late and the bell did not work. The woman who let us in was talking on her head piece the whole time she checked us in. Hotel smelled like smoke. Kids were having parties in the rooms around us, when we called the lobby no one answered. We checked out 3 days early.
