Description: The Hyatt Inner Harbor, as the name implies, has a great and convenient inner harbor location. As you approach the hotel, you notice a massive glass building with three flagpoles in the front. Upon entering the lobby you will notice the classic decor featuring deep browns and grays, with hints of green (predominantly plants). You will immediately notice the stately glass elevators, as well as the sleek marble check-in desk. Check-in is quick and efficient. Although they are not the friendliest, they make an effort to get you what you need. For instance, we booked our stay with the Dolphin package. This included tickets to the National Aquarium, the room, and a FREE dolphin themed gift at check-in.
However, at the front desk, they ran out. About ten minutes after getting settled in our room, a member of the staff knocked on our door with a dolphin stuffed animal in hand. It was nice to see the extra effort. The guest room that we stayed was moderate. There were only minor problems (the toilets flushed loudly, the hallway to get to the room smelled like fish), and the knob on the desk came off when we opened the desk, but nothing to horrible. The room itself had a very classic look to it as well. There were very nice linens on the bed. There was a desk that had a very comfortable leather chair to go with it, a relaxing chair, and an area of shelving to hold the television set. The bathroom was rather spacious for a hotel, and there were rather nice "spa" toiletries.
The best thing about the hotel though, was its location! Located right in Inner Harbor, it was attached to the skywalk. For those of you who don't know what the skywalk is, it connects the Inner Harbor shops and restaurants to the hotel. There is gorgeous scenery as you walk, and you don't have to bother with cross walks! Among some of the nearby restaurants are The California Pizza Kitchen, The Cheescake Factory, a very, very, very, small but good Johnny Rockets, a seafood buffet, and more. If you opt to stay in the hotel though, there are options there too. You can choose from Bistro 300, Pool Deck Bar, Perks (opens 6am), Pisces, or a vast selection of items from the room service menu. So, if you are looking for a slightly above average hotel with a little extra to offer and a great location, then The Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor is the hotel for you!
