Love the location, room comfortable, staff friendly and helpful for suggestions to restaurants, sights etc. Pool area very nice, especially as summer approaches.
Only small draw back- no coffee machine in room.

This is the best hotel and location I have ever stayed at in New Orleans. You can walk to most of the area attractions, even the Superdome! The hotel facilities were wonderful -the parking, rooms, restaurants, etc. My daughter and I felt very safe at this location in the French Quarter.
Great Hotel in the midst of the action

This hotel was convenient and a wonderful stay. We arrived on the Sunday after a big Saturday College game that most of the fans/players stayed at Royal Sonesta. Even with a huge group of people leaving as we were checking in everything went smoothly. The room was great and the bed SUPER comfortable. A huge screen tv and the BF was happy. After walking the city all day the hotel was a pleasure to come back to, and coming in to the Hotel from the craziest and seediness of Bourbon St. at night it was like walking into a different world.
I would highly recommend this hotel to those that want to be in the midst of things yet have a safe and quite place to come back to.
Parking was in an underground garage and was around 30 bucks a night. That was fine for us as we only were there a short time. Restaurants were all pricy in the area. We ate at Aranads (sp) across the street and I would not recommend there! Everything was ala-carte and even the jazz band cost us 4 dollars per person. If the food is good I do not mind paying top dollar but this was not.

Royal Sonesta was clean and updated. I loved the flat screen tv. Desk staff, bell staff, and concierge were friendly and helpful. Check in was early and room was available. Be sure to eat breakfast at Petunias, just 2 blks away, food, service and price was good.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Royal Sonesta. If you want a prime French Quarter location, this is your place. The rooms were very roomy compared to many of the other hotels in the area. Our only complaint was the hot water not getting hot for showers or baths.
